1933 Pontiac 5-Window
It was bought brand new from Grand Rapids Buick Company in Grand Rapids MI by John Wittmann. John was not only the 1st person in his family to own a car, he was the 1st person in his family to even drive a car. He paid a whopping $731.30 for it. When John’s son turned 16, he gave him the car. As the story goes, his son took the Pontiac out behind the barn and painted it. John was furious, he took the car and had it professionally repainted. After John passed, his son kept the car, where it remained in the family until he passed away a few years ago.
This Pontiac comes with a briefcase full of paperwork and pictures of this car documenting its history. There are pictures when it was new, and thru the years with various members of the family, along with handwritten notes on them. There is full documentation; the original sales paperwork, warranty sheets, and a copy of the original title. It runs and drives as good as the day John brought it home. The straight 8 engine starts every time and has only been driven 69k miles in it entire life. This multiple award winner was a very important part of the Wittman family.
