  1. Hi there, if anyone can help me out I would be greatly appreciative. I am forever filling my hydramatic in my 1959 Catalina to the proper fill level, while its warm and running. However over a week or so I have a fair amount leak out the dust cover and I will again need to top it up. Its not major and has been doing it for the 3 years that I have had it. But what I have been trying to find out before I even contemplate purchasing a seal kit, is what my dipstick length should be and I can not find this info out anywhere  ( I live in Australia, so it is a challenge sourcing info). The engine was apparently rebuilt and the filler tube looks brand new, so I just want to first make sure I am using the correct tube/ dipstick. Once the fluid gets down to below the dipstick it stops leaking and shifts as normal. But I am too afraid to run it like that in case I am burning out the tranny, so I fill it back up. Does anyone know the length of the filler tube and or dipstick for a 59 hydramatic? Thanks in advance.
