2017 Ford GT

-

Last night, Ford sent out a whole batch of letters to prospective buyers of the 2017 GT. Thousands received the letdown letter, informing them that they haven’t been selected to purchase a new GT.

-

But up to 500 lucky souls will open their e-mail to find this joyful, resplendent letter, informing them of their newfound ability to purchase a brand-new GT. The folks at Ford GT Forum started uploading screenshots of their letters last night. You can’t blame them for being excited.

-

“Congratulations! You’ve been selected for the opportunity to purchase a new Ford GT!

-

Your passion for performance and for the Ford GT qualifies you to be among a small number of drivers selected for the opportunity to own a new Ford GT. We are thrilled to extend you this opportunity!

-

Please complete and return the attached time-sensitive documents within 10 business days so we can send your official Welcome Guide. The Welcome Guide provides essential information and formally welcomes you to the Ford GT ownership experience.”

--

As DragTimes explains, a second wave of e-mails went out later yesterday evening to applicants who’ve been placed on the “priority” waiting list, while a third wave offered “deferred” opportunities to those who didn’t quite make the cut. Congratulations to all 500 of the lucky GT owners who now get to spend around $450,000—and up—on their blue-oval supercars.
