The all-new 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty is proof that being big isn’t an excuse for being overweight. Ford’s heavy-duty pickup is still no featherweight, but thanks to its aluminum body, the big F-350 is the poster child for effective dieting.

-

Unsurprisingly, prices for the new truck are up across the board—just as they are for the 2017 Ford F-250. On the low end, the base-level F-350 Super Duty XL regular-cab truck incurs a small premium ($425), while on the high end, the top-of-the-line F-350 Super Duty Platinum models see prices rise by more than $5000.

-

All F-350s come standard with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Ford offers its 6.7-liter turbo-diesel V-8 on all models for an $8595 premium. That extra money buys you greater towing capacity and a heavy-duty transmission.

Ford F-350 Super Duty XL Regular Cab, $34,900: Like its F-250 stablemate, the base F-350 Super Duty comes with a single cab and an 8.0-foot bed. Single rear wheels are standard, but buyers can opt for a dually for $1490 on rear-wheel-drive trucks and $1485 on four-wheel-drive models. Four-wheel drive will set buyers back $2800 for single- and $2795 for dual-wheel trucks. Power windows, power locks, and remote keyless entry are bundled in the Power Equipment group for $915. Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system with navigation and an 8.0-inch touchscreen can only be had after adding more than $2000 in option packages. Buyers looking for advanced safety options will want to check the boxes for a rearview camera ($370) and a blind-spot warning system ($540). The Ultimate Trailer Tow package ($710) lives up to its name and comes with a 360-degree camera system with trailer reverse guidance, a rear camera in the LED center high-mounted stop light (CHMSL) to give a clear view of the bed, and a rearview camera. The XL Value package ($720) includes chrome front and rear bumpers, a 4.2-inch screen in the truck’s center stack, an upgraded stereo, chrome wheel hub covers, and cruise control. Spending $1180 nets consumers the XL-exclusive STX Appearance package, which includes STX fender vent badging, chrome bumpers and wheel hub covers, a chrome grille, and more. Four-wheel-drive shoppers can also spend $295 on the FX4 Off-Road package, which adds special decals to the truck’s box, Rancho shocks front and rear, hill descent control, a transfer case, and skid plates to protect the fuel tank.

-

Ford F-350 Super Duty XL SuperCab, $37,240: F-350 Super Duty XLs offer a bigger cab but a shorter bed compared with the regular cab; however, buyers can pay $200 and trade the smaller 6.75-foot bed for the larger 8.0-foot bed. You’ll pay $1685 to get both the dually package and the longer bed. Four-wheel drive is not available on dually XL SuperCab trucks; it costs $2600 on non-dually models.

-

Ford F-350 Super Duty XL Crew Cab, $38,500: With four real doors, the Crew Cab is the F-350 for carrying passengers and cargo. A 6.75-foot bed is standard, although the 8.0-foot bed can be added for $200 on rear-wheel-drive trucks and $195 on four-wheel-drive models. Four-wheel drive costs $2805 on short-bed F-350s and $2800 on the long-bed model. Opting for the dually is a long-bed-only affair that will set buyers back $1685. Unlike the SuperCab, Crew Cab dually F-350s can be had with four-wheel drive at an additional cost of $2800. Power windows, power locks, and remote keyless entry, among other things, are bundled in the Power Equipment group, which costs $1125.

Ford F-350 Super Duty XLT Regular Cab, $39,115: Starting at just under $40,000, the XLT Regular Cab adds standard features including chrome front and rear bumpers, a chrome grille, power mirrors, power door locks (including a tailgate lock), cruise control, remote keyless entry, a 40/20/40–split bench seat, vanity mirrors in the sun visors, a rearview camera, and a 4.2-inch screen in the center console with Sync connectivity. An 8.0-foot bed is the sole box available. Going dually sets you back $1270, and four-wheel drive costs $2800 on both dually and non-dually models. A $1460 XLT Value package includes a reverse-sensing audible alert, a keyless entry keypad, fog lamps, automatic locking/unlocking doors, and power-adjustable pedals.

-

Ford F-350 Super Duty XLT SuperCab, $41,775: The shorter, 6.75-foot bed is once again standard fare, but the 8.0-foot bed can be added for a $200 charge on rear-wheel-drive and $195 on four-wheel-drive XLT SuperCabs. Four-wheel drive is a $2805 option for short-bed customers and a $2800 option on long-bed models. Dually SuperCabs are rear-drive only and include the longer bed; the option costs an additional $1470. An XLT Premium package is available for $3025 and includes Ford’s Sync 3 system with 8.0-inch touchscreen, reverse-sensing audible alert, keyless entry, fog lamps, chrome mirror caps, chrome step bars, body-color door handles with chrome inserts, a chrome exhaust tip, power-adjustable pedals, an eight-way power driver’s seat, automatic locking/unlocking doors, heated front seats, and chrome tie-downs in the bed as well as chrome tow hooks, among other things. An XLT Driver Assistance package costs $1080 and brings automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive steering, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and lane-departure warning. Choosing either the XLT Premium package or the XLT Driver Assistance package requires that buyers also purchase a defroster for the truck’s rear window for $60, or a power sliding rear window, which includes a defroster, for $405.

-

Ford F-350 Super Duty XLT Crew Cab, $43,605: The XLT Crew Cab brings more interior space to the table. A short box is standard, with a big box running $195. Four-wheel drive costs $2800. Going dually includes the big bed and requires that customers drop $1275 on rear-wheel-drive trucks and $1280 on four-wheel-drive ones.

-

Ford F-350 Super Duty Lariat SuperCab, $46,300: The Lariat skips over the workmanlike regular cab to start right at the SuperCab. Standard features include running boards, fog lamps, a premium Sony audio system, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Sync 3 and navigation, two LCD monitors in the gauge cluster, eight-way power seats, leather interior trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Ford’s reverse sensing audible alert, among other things. As with the XL and XLT SuperCabs, Ford’s 6.75-foot bed and rear-wheel drive are standard. The longer 8.0-foot bed is a $200 upcharge. Four-wheel drive runs $3190. Dually models are rear-drive only and cost an additional $1685. An $1125 Chrome package adds chrome wheels, mirror caps, and step bars; body-color door handles with chrome inserts; a chrome exhaust tip; and chrome tie-down hooks in the bed as well as chrome tow hooks. Choosing the $1735 Tow Technology Bundle brings automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive steering, 360-degree camera and trailer reverse guidance, a camera in the CHMSL, lane-departure warning, and more. Meanwhile, the $710 Lariat Value package includes an easy entry/exit memory driver’s seat, big trailer-tow mirrors with memory, remote start, heated and cooled seats, LED lighting in the box, an LED CHMSL, and power-adjustable pedals. Consumers looking to get some wind in their hair can select a power sunroof for $545.

Ford F-350 Super Duty Lariat Crew Cab, $49,800: Crew Cabs can be optioned with a Lariat Ultimate package ($3740). It includes voice-activated navigation plus automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a proximity key with push-button start, easy entry/exit memory driver’s seat, remote start, a remote tailgate release, power-adjustable pedals with memory, a massive twin-panel sunroof, big trailer-tow mirrors with memory, heated and cooled front seats, a tailgate step and handle, LED lighting in the bed, a heated, power tilting and telescoping steering wheel, and more. The twin-panel sunroof can be had on its own for $1025. An LED lighting package ($1080) includes headlights, taillights, fog lamps, and an LED CHMSL. Choosing the long bed adds $200 to the price, while four-wheel drive requires an additional $3190. Duallies come only with the 8.0-foot bed and can be optioned with either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. Opting for the dually adds $1480 to rear-wheel-drive trucks and $1490 to four-wheel-drive ones.

-

Ford F-350 Super Duty King Ranch Crew Cab, $56,630: Only available in Crew Cab form, the King Ranch wears standard contrast-color lower trim and bumpers. Other features include rain-sensing wipers, illuminated running boards, LED brake lights, seats wrapped in King Ranch–specific leather, a heated, power tilting and telescoping steering wheel, a proximity key and push-button start, and power-adjustable pedals, among other things. Add $2960 for the King Ranch Ultimate package, which includes a twin-panel sunroof, multi-contour seats, power-deployable running boards, a tailgate step and handle, LED headlights and taillights, LED fog lamps, and an LED CHMSL, plus blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert. Choosing the larger bed will set buyers back $205 on rear-wheel-drive trucks and $195 on four-wheel-drive models, while four-wheel drive is $3195 on short-bed trucks and $3185 on long-bed non-dually models. Dually King Ranch F-350s are long bed only and add $1680 to the base price. Opting for four-wheel drive requires tacking on another $3195.

Ford F-350 Super Duty Platinum Crew Cab, $62,970: Unlike every other trim in the F-350’s extensive lineup, the least expensive F-350 Super Duty Platinum trim is the long-bed dually model. That’s because it’s the only trim available with rear-wheel drive. Opting for the short-bed, four-wheel-drive non-dually Platinum will add $1510 to the MSRP, with the long-bed model tacking on another $200 to the non-dually Platinum’s price. Want four-wheel drive on your dually Platinum? Prepare to fork over another $3190 on top of the truck’s base price. As the top dog of the F-350 lineup, the Platinum includes a retractable rear step, LED headlights and taillights, front seats equipped with massaging lumbar support, and genuine wood trim throughout the cabin, including on the heated steering wheel. The Platinum Ultimate package ($2785) adds a twin-panel sunroof, a 360-degree camera system with trailer reverse guidance, a rearview camera in the CHMSL, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control with collision warning and brake support, and more.
