65 GTO pilot bearing


I am converting my gto from the original 2 speed automatic to a muncie m20 4 speed. I ordered the correct pilot bearing for my car and it does not seem to fit the crank. It seems like it may be just slightly larger that the hole in the crank. Can anyone let me know if this is common or if there is a procedure for installing this bearing. This is my first time doing it.

As some have already indicated not all cranks came machined for the bushing and/or a bearing.

I would first confirm the bearing is correct and it might be hard to tell but with a good light see if you can determine if your crank looks machined within the seat.   

I myself prefer the OEM bushing over the bearing and luckily have not ran into this issue thus far.
