NSRA TAMPA racers reunion car show

Recommended Posts

Dropped in on a car show that I annually visit at a local country club and I took a couple of old school vs. new school beside my buddies newer GTO. Please admire his retro hood using 68-70 GTO scoops grafted on a newer GTO hood and the use of a hood tach. This is the cleanest and sharpest new era GTO that I've seen.

The hood tach appeared on Pontiac GTO's as early as 1967 and carried thru the 1971 GTO as an ordered option from the factory. It was analog and two were offered depending on the motor you selected because they had different redlines marked depending on the engines redline. They came in 5100 RPM and 5500 RPM's. It's too bad they don't offer cool options like this anymore.

Heres the one off my hood.
