My old '68 Firebird

Recommended Posts

We have been getting rid of a lot of old crap lately and came across these pictures while looking in some boxes we hadn't opened in years. They are pictures (that I thought were long gone) of my '68 Firebird 400 that I had for a few years. It had a numbers matching 400, 4-speed, and posi rear with manual steering and manual drum brakes all around (it was a bear to drive in a parking lot and and I prayed to God whenever I drove it that I would not have any emergency braking situation as you had to plan well in advance to stop if were going more than say 25mph, lol!). It was solar red with parchment custom interior and a hood tach. I sold it to help pay for a good chunk of my son's college degree (family, over things, always!).

Anyway, these pictures were taken in 2001 about a year before I sold it. I don't have a scanner, so I took digital pictures of the actual photos, so please excuse the crappy quality. Wouldn't that be a great pair if I still had it- '68 Firebird and '68 GTO...

Wow stratman! You are lucky man to find your old photos. Perhaps the car gods will smile on you and allow to buy the car back someday!

Someday I hope I can find some pictures of my old '73 Lemans Sport Coupe that I had back in the day, then you could appreciate why I had to buy Lucy.
