What I don't understand is how he has those cars, those guitars ... and is somehow still married. I bring home a new ratchet set and I'm on the sofa for the week.

You forgot to mention the pet bird too.

Who said he wasn't sleeping on the sofa Pro? After all, he is married.

You know the only time GE takes his foot out of his mouth is to swap out to fresh leather or take a drink of stump water. :lol2:

Stratman, Ringo64 - Ya'll come down and ya'll can jam with anyone of them. Oh the Gretsch has a killer story behind it. I saw it at a guitar shop on the wall in nashville, tn during lunch from the studio. Didn't see any other that caught my eye and I had to play it. I fell in love!! It had a great mellow bluesy sound. So, I bought it and they put new strangs on it and polished it and I'd pick it up after work. I went to go pick it up and there on a stoole pickin on a martin box top was George Jones. We started talking and I never once let on to that I knew who he was. We were talking about what kind of music we played and folks we liked and their songs while we both were pickin' And I talked about the older country music stars that I liked which he was one of them. And I noticed the lacquer on the neck had a slight high spot from all the years of playing. He replied ah that just adds character to it. And I said you know your right. And he said you know I used to play some rock n roll. And I said do ya know this one which was an old Ventures song walk don't run. As we were playing he started playing the lead riffs and I stopped dead in my tracks of playing and he stopped and said whats wrong. I said play that part again and he did and I asked one more time. I told him that I have never seen it played that way and that I loved it. So, we started back jamming when a guy comes up and says ya'll play great!! I replied I play okay, but this guy plays great! And George replied and I only had one lesson!! And we all laughed and went back pickin. Then I had to go and I told him George it was great pickin with ya and a pleasure. He gave me his business card and said give me a call sometime and we'll do this again. I replied sure thing!! The only regret was not getting him to sign the guitar. But, that really doesn't bother me at all cause it was the greatest time just pickin with him. I can remember it like it was yesterday. I have gone thru looking to see if there is another gretsch like this and I haven't yet seen one even on gretsch's historic site.

Sorry, about the long story just thought ya might wanna hear it! All the other signed guitars has different stories as well. I'll tell them later.

Pro - Well I ain't got to kids except me and the cats and birds lol !! Now, I get put in the dog house for long time when I buy new parts for the car or when a new old car arrives in the yard. It happens whoops !! Then I hear about it for years lol !! On the guitars and amps well it's the ole when er ya gonna get rid of some of that crap along with everything else cars included lmao!!

Notallthere - Dang it man !! Yeah, we got talking about crazy stuff and I passed the first exit and gave them the win. But, ya know we had to let the ladys win!! lol Yeah I forgot about that one lol !!

That's a wonderful story GE. You are blessed to have known these great artists and I just bet you can jam with the best of 'em!

It would be an honor, but truly embarrassing for me to attempt to play your guitars. I have not played in over three years. I was a power cord playing hack in a contemporary Christian praise band, but had to leave because my mother had Alzheimer's and she had to move in with us (my wife and I) because we could not afford a nursing home. During those years pretty much all we did was go to work and take care of mom 24/7. She passed away just over a year ago, but I still haven't picked up a guitar. During this time, I did find out I enjoyed taking my guitars apart and modifying them as much (if not more, lol!) as playing them.

This is my 2005 American HH Hardtail Stratocaster. It must not have sold well because Fender only offered it for two years, so I think it is somewhat rare. However rare does not always mean valuable in the world of Stratocasters as most Strat players are hard core traditionalists and don't consider this to be a REAL Strat due to it's lack of single coil pickups and tremolo. When I got it, it was all black including the pickguard. I changed the pickguard to an engine turned aluminum one and had the body pinstriped at a car show (I told the artist what I wanted and he nailed it!). It now has a 50's hot rod look, but I kept everything else stock in case it should become collectible.

This, on the other hand, is my 2000 HSS Mexican Stratocaster which I'm sure they made a zillion of. I got it super cheap because the pickups sounded awful, but the body and neck were in excellent shape. I completely disassembled it and cleaned and polished the body and neck. I got the schematic for an American Deluxe HSS with the 5-way S-1 superswitch combo, bought all the parts and wire needed to make the change. For pickups she's got a Seymour Duncan Trembucker in the bridge, and two SD Classic Strat single coils in the mid and neck positions. It actually worked when I finished! Between the split coil trembucker and the 5-way S-1 superswitch, I have ten different pickup combos. I used a black anodized aluminum pickguard to give my two Strats a kind of family resemblance.

Not even going to bother to photograph my guitars. My Epiphone DR Acoustic is the only "nice" one I have and I need to restring it and clean it right now.

Stratman - Those are very nice guitfiddles!! Like the pin-striping on the hardtail with those humbuckers it should rip. The blue is very nice as well. Duncan's are good pickups. Oh, I love tweaking guitars and let them rip with killer sound. Have you ever used EMG setup on a strat? It sounds allsome. Another good set up is humbucker at bridge and strat pick up center and a rail on the neck and there are alot of killer combos out there it's unreal. I play okay and not the best player. I do enjoy playing and it never matters how good a person is when playing. It's just that they enjoy playing. I see it like when you go out on a bike ride. You just let everything go and just enjoy the ride letting everything on your mind free and just go with it. You need to get back jamming and crank that beast of a amp you got loose. Nice amp by the way great sounds. Sorry, about your loss and I can understand taking care of your parent came first. But pull those guitars out and blast away the dust and make some noise!! I just want a guitar that makes money like yours. You polish it and it gives you a dollar I like that !! What does it give ya when ya play it a 5. woo hoo !!

Oh come on Ringo64 do show do show we would like to see your guitfiddles !!!
