Monkeemobile Replica For Sale on eBay

Recommended Posts

One of the most famous GTOs in history is the legendary Monkeemobile. Two cars were built by car builder Dean Jefferies for the TV show, "The Monkees" back in the mid-1960s.

Now a replica Monkeemobile is now for sale on eBay. This is Monkeemobile #4, or the second replica built. It was made with some parts from the 2nd original Monkeemobile that George Barris removed when he had #2 restored back in 2006. Major differences is that this car started out as a '65 Malibu and not a GTO. It has an Oldsmobile engine and not a Pontiac. Still - having Dean Jefferies autograph on the car is worth something.

Personally, I don't need to. Monkeemobile #2 (formerly owned by George Barris) sold at Barrett-Jackson for around $350k a number of years ago is running around SE Michigan these days. I have pictures of it somewhere. I will post them when I find them. I see it during Woodward every year. If I can find the guy's contact information, I'd love to invite him to the Dust Off.

Have seen him many times on Woodward and last show I attended that he was there, was Bakers. Maybe you'll see him this weekend?

Bidding for this ended. The final bid was $38,700.00, and it did not meet the reserve - so it would appear to be a no sale.

Reserve appears to be $60,000.00.
