Havoc my boy - those are some damn fine pieces of GM memorabilia!!! Of course, I am very partial to the AC Fire Ring sign since they were everywhere when I was kid and when I was working at AC. The other sign I've not seen before. I've seen all the logos individually, just not in one big collage like this. Excellent score. Can I ask what you paid for them? Definitely man-cave wall art.

Now Havoc - do you know what AC stands for ?

A local hobby store had them lying around. The collage one shown below cost me $30 bucks. Its made of wood. The AC one was about $20. That AC one was the only one they had so, regardless of price, I had to have it. In fact, both pieces were the only ones they had, and I knew I'd never find them anywhere else.

Now, doesn't AC stand for Albert Champion, who founded Champion Ignition?

You are correct that AC standards for Albert Champion. Actually, Champion started Flint Ignition at the Buick complex. I've seen drawing number 0001 with the Flint Ignition name on it. It might have been changed later to Champion Ignition after things got off the ground and before GM bought it from his heirs.

Now little know fact is that AC Spark Plugs need to be called that was because there was already another company called "AC" - Allis Chalmers. So all AC products had to be named as such, AC Oil Filters, AC Air Filters, etc.

Albert Champion also founded Champion Spark Plug as well. Its amazing that he lost control of both companies but (in theory at least) both still bear his name.

BTW - I'd say you got a good deal on both signs. Way to go!
