RSS Rumormill: C7 Chevrolet Corvette's rump is realistically rendered

With a steady stream of leaked renderings and spy shots of late, people are seemingly pretty fired up about this next-generation, C7 Chevrolet Corvette. Perhaps you've noticed?

Word out today will do nothing but add fuel to that enthusiast fire, as the Vette faithful have delivered what is believed to be a very accurate rendering of the rear portion of the C7. The new car would appear to have P-shaped taillights that borrow heavily from the Chevy Camaro, those being a huge departure from the traditional round units usually sported by the Corvette. The rear lighting seen here is accented by a black surround that gives it the units a "mascara" effect that we're not entirely comfortable with on America's finest sports car.

Also visible here is an appropriate fastback shape that seems to end neatly in an extended rear lip spoiler. In all, the rendering shows a snippet of a car that, while nothing like the Corvette of the now, seems set to take the marque on a big leap forward.

The best part of it all: Autoblog's insider sources tell us that what we're seeing is, in fact, very close to what we're going to get. A bit of spoiler height here and a vent there may be out of size, but by and large, this rendering represents the reality of the next Chevrolet Corvette's terminus.

Make your voice heard - tell us what you think of this as the rump for the new Vette in Comments.

Boring? The dual circles have been a trademark look with the Corvette since the C2.

And? They are the biggest turn-off for me. They are on the same level as the Impala's tails, boring.
