...and GM is saying it is not the civilian version of the Caprice, which is police use only. The wheelbases will be different between the two with obviously some similar styling.

I saw a G8 on base yesterday that had a CF hood and the "SS" badge in the same place these pictures have it. I wonder if he knew something or if the "SS" placement is purely coincidental. I thought he must be an idiot to put the "SS" badge on a G8 but now I'm wondering if he's got an inside scoop on GM's plans. I may have to try to find this driver or something if I see it parked on base again. So many questions...

It's basically the Chevy Lumina SS sold in the Middle East market. Makes sense, no need to build a new design for our Chevy variation of the Commodore when it already exists.
