After you read enough stories about what inspires gearheads to buy and build classic cars it often involves exposure at an early age. This is exactly how Wayne Sanchez Jr. got the Corvette bug. As he told us, “I’ve always been an avid Corvette fan. No, not the numbers-matching kind, but I do appreciate those as well.

It's a wrap...

chip-foose-overhaulin-last-show-10.jpg

After 11 years, Overhaulin’, the television show staring automotive designer/builder Chip Foose (where hot rod owners are tricked into believing their pride and joy project car has been stolen, set afire, crushed, or just misplaced by an inattentive impound lot employee only to be customized and rebuilt better than new by Foose and crew), has come to an end.

Big bad fish...

Money can buy a lot of things. Hot women, small portions of strange food, luxury suites at sporting events you have no interest in, congressmen seeking campaign contributions even though they’re not actually campaigning, and even some cool cars.

NOOOOOOO, WHYYYY?!

He and another street racer named Brian "Chucky" Davis hit each other during a race while filming an episode of Street Outlaws, according to this article in the Hot Rod Network. The Crow appears to be toast. Chucky's car does too. This is a different "Chuck" than the one that appears on the show.

Chief ended up with may broken bones and very lucky to be here.  Car is gone.  "Daddy" also suffered a major crash trashing his new car with many injuries as well.  SAD

Chief has had that car since birth, I don't see him giving up on that car any time soon. I have seen race cars come back in much worse condition.

Not FWIW, If he wants to build a new bullet for that beast, I would gladly slide that Jim Butler motor between my GTO frame rails.

I stand corrected. Justin, or Big Chief is known as "BrandX" over on the Ames Performance Tech forums and this is his latest reply to a thread he created over there.

The Crow saved my life.......

And sacrificed its own in the process. This sucks guys. I loved that car and a lot of what I am is owed to it. It's def not rebuildable. Ya some of you will say I shouldn't be street racing, but I don't see how that would change anything at all.

I was winning, and making a solid pass when I was clipped in the rear 1/4 just before the finish line. It spun me up into a barrel roll and eventually went end over end from what I was told. I am finally out of the hospital and looking for a fresh Pontiac to build or slide my combo into. Please pass along any and all nice big tire cars 25.2.....

Before anyone opens their mouth and closes their minds, I want to make sure it's known that I didn't have insurance, the show doesn't pay me for the car, the show nor the network are paying my hospital bills nor giving me a dime for a new car. I work 18 hour days to pay for my hobbie so eve4y dime is mine. Thanks for all the kind words fellas
