Corvette Stingray Automobile of the Year

2014-Chevrolet-Corvette-Stingray-front-l

Yes, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette is the Automobile of the Year. No, this was not a foregone conclusion. The Corvette may have a special place in the American automotive pantheon, but not every new Corvette has been a big deal. The C6, for example, was a conservative effort, a safe play that didn't reach. The new C7, though, is something else.

One of our favorite cars was John Kundrat's restomod midyear roadster, which features a late-model-infused chassis and a nearly 500-horse LS1 engine. There were touches of all six generations throughout this well-detailed car, including the C6 wheels.

Thanks 6 Shooter.

I just saw Paul Sr. on his new series "Orange County Choppers" on CMT the other night. He gave a tour of his property including his 2 garages. In his "high" garage he has a collection of 64-72 muscle cars including several GTOs, and a fully loaded Catalina, a few Olds 442, a Buick GS as well. His said his favorite cars for the muscle car era are Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles.

In his other garage, this is where he keeps his modern muscle cars like his Z06 Corvette, Camaro Pace car, CTS-V, etc. He also builds bikes in this garage. This is where he and Paul Jr built their final bike together during the last season of American Chopper.

Saleen edition Camaros and Challengers added to their stable of Mustang? Nice move. That essentially covers the entire pony car/muscle car spectrum. Saleen cars are no slouch in the performance arena either.
