[Video Game] Jetpack Joyride

This was a surprise for me, especially since this is a free game. Developer Half Brick studios, infamous for the popular Fruit Ninja game, created this with a lot of depth for a free game.

You play as the lovable hero, Barry Steakfries, as he breaks into a secret laboratory, to snatch the various jetpacks from the evil scientists. The game starts you off with the "machine gun jetpack". The controls are as simple as tapping the screen. Hold down for Barry to ascend up, let go to defend. Barry automatically runs forward, keeping tabs of your distance.

Coins are collected, and collect enough to get new jetpacks, swag, upgrades and items. Along the way, powerups for various vehicle can be attained, all while avoiding the lab's security defenses. The vehicles can also be upgraded too.

The further distance you achieve, the faster Barry moves, with the exception of acquiring a vehicle. If you use Game Center, your scores are automatically uploaded and you're shown your global standings. Once you finally succumb to the lab's defenses, you get the chance to use the Final Spin tokens scattered about the lab.

All in all, very entertaining, and a surprising amount of depth for a "free" game. Worth the download. 9/10.
