Seat recovering suggestions

Recommended Posts

I have a 1970 Pontiac Lemans Sports that has black vinyl bucket seats which I plan to re-upholster myself. Does anyone have suggestions on a company or brand of replacement foam and vinyl seat covers?

Hey Doclops, welcome! It looks like OPGI has the upholstery for a 70' Lemans bud. Hog rings, pliers and even a book on how to do it. Hope this helps.

I used OPG to do my GTO seats.   They came out well, my 1st shot at upholstery.  No matter which company you go with, invest in a GOOD pair of hogring pliers.  Trust me.

If you are looking to re-do it back to factory original, my upholstery guy will only let me buy material from Legendary Auto Interiors out of upstate New York for my '72 Lemans Sport convertible. They have the proper materials, patterns, etc. Top notch company but thanks to COVID they are taking longer than normal to fill orders. I've purchased my bucket seat and rear seat coverings, I just ordered both door panels and new arm rests from them. I will also be ordered new plastic seat backs this winter for the Strato buckets.
