1965 Pontiac Grand Prix Air Conditioning Part

Recommended Posts

1965 Pontiac Grand Prix

Where is the best place, company, to purchase Air Conditioning upgrade parts, compressor, condenser, clutch fan or direct fan and misc parts. I am looking to upgrade with new technology for a factory air conditioning vehicle. Unless someone has a better idea of rebuilt parts (compressor) that will do the job. The system works, just looking to improve it and have the vehicle run cooler... Thanks for your assistance....

My first thought is Classic Auto Air's upgrade kit line called Original Air:   https://www.originalair.com/upgrade-kits

Another company is Vintage Air:  https://www.vintageair.com/

Neither has kits specific to your Grand Prix that I know of. However, if they have kits for the GTO/A-body, a lot of the AC parts should adapt to your B-body except perhaps the hose lengths. The engine A/C brackets are the same for both cars since they are both Pontiac V8s. So the engine mounted parts will work. Condensers should work with perhaps a little tweaking or fab work for mounting (or perhaps a consdenser for a '65 Impala/Bel Air will work).

I would call them and see what they recommend from their respective product lines.
