Hey guys  i am looking at a 51 chieftain,, the body is really clean,, im asking if anyone has gotten into floor pan repair or replacement. The foor in front of the rear seat and the left and right front corners are rotted away . The rest of the car is all original with straight 8 , car is absolutely complete. Its a 2 k investment, i would just like to know if anyone has done a floor in one. Thanks and God bless

I am not aware of anyone (that I know) that has repaired a '51 Cheiftain. Sounds like a great car. You have two choices when it comes to repairing the floor boards. You will have to have someone cut out and custom fabricate the damaged panels or you can try to find a donor car (which is very hard to find and will be very expensive).

You may (I stress MAY) get lucky and be able to adapt/use the reproduced floor boards of a '51 Chevy. You can get them from Chevs of the 40s website. They have a floorboard from the front to the rear seat  riser. Again, there are no guarantees that these will fit or work at all.
