1962 Tempest drivetrain pictures

Recommended Posts

I have  Trophy Lemans with the 2 sp powerglide trans. I'm very curious about the manual setup. I've been unable to come up with a good picture of the unit. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it. Thx, Mike D (Western NY)

What are you looking for? The manual shift transaxle or the shift linkage inside the car?

I would like both if possible. I find the setup of both very interesting. I believe the idea for the Corvette, starting in 2004 , transmission relocation came from the 61-63 Tempest. Thx for the reply. Mike

Thx for the pics. I couldn't find the manual pic anywhere. Apparently the clutch mechanism is up front. Thx, Frosty

No problem. An episode of Junkyard Gold on MotorTrend TV has Steve Manante showing off  the automatic version of the Tempest too. Pretty cool.

I just came across this pic . I'm puzzled, as the complete clutch system, including the starter, seems to all be at the rear. Could this be a custom setup?

Sorry, having an issue inserting the picture
