🤔I have what appear to be two NEW early 60s aluminum finned front brake drums (5x5 bolt pattern).  The part number is:. K-H 43734, yet I can find no info on the web about these drums/hubs.  Any help or info appreciated.00100lPORTRAIT_00100_BURST20191216145743783_COVER.thumb.jpg.cc8811371a7b5c9a8ddd502426aa9bf4.jpg

I agree with you. I have found very little regarding anything to Kelsey-Hayes brake drums period. I managed to find a .pdf catalog from 1964 but it does not contain the part number you show above. The fun thing is, I can't even find another picture like you show that is remotely similar in shape to yours. This is a toughie.

Today that is very true.

No one remakes Kelsey-Hayes parts and K-H itself has been bought out and sold several times in the last 30 or so years. It was bought by Varity out of Toronto. Then Varity merged with Lucas to form LucasVarity.  LucasVarity was bought out by TRW. TRW was then acquired by Northrup Grumman. N-G sold the TRW Automotive business unit (which included the old LucasVarity assets) to the Blackstone Group, a private equity firm. In 2015, TRW Automotive was sold again to ZF Friedrichshafen, a German conglomerate.

Bottom line is the K-H name has all but disappeared from the modern lexicon. You have quite a rare piece for sure.

For the love of God somebody help me choose the best brakes to switch out on my GTO I’ve been looking at Brembo’s and Wilwood but I can never find rear brakes, only the front. If anybody has a suggestion please let me know.

Hey I’m new here, looking for front rotors on my Catalina. It came factory with disk front and will eventually need rotors for it and can’t find any anywhere. Down the road I want to upgrade the suspension but can’t find anything there either. Ultimately I want it to be a fun boat to cruise in with some power I can take down the strip occasionally

Hello, our 16 year old found a 1980 Phoenix that had less than 80k miles on it for less than a grand so she bought it. After a water pump, pads, calipers and rotors we still cant get the drivers side caliper to retract.
The passenger side is fine.  When the car is on stands and in drive the rotors are turning true, no wobbling, which is hopefully telling me the hub is running straight.
When the brakes are applied the drivers side caliper, which is brand-new, wont retract back unless I open the bleeder valve. When I open the bleeder valve the caliper retracts and the wheel hub starts spinning normally.
Can anyone please give me some insight on what the problem may be? The caliper is getting plenty of fluid on the bleed but just isn't retracting.
      Thank you,
      Dana
