1973 Pontiac Catalina

Recommended Posts

Hi Everybody,

I'm from Germany and my new ride is this 73' Catalina 2dr Hardtop Coupe. I bought the car last week from a member of the US Car community located in Dresden (www.sundaycruiser.de/).

As a newbie in US classic cars I appreciate the Pontiac community as a resource for technical help as well as talking about the good old times when cars look like real masterpieces of engineering.

First post = first question: Does anyone know how and where to get new (or refurbished) Door Panels in "Regatta Blue" color? I'd like to replace them because they are in bad shape.

Kind regards,
Bjoern

Good to see some love for American classics over there in Germany!

Good question on the door panels. Unfortunately, unless you can find a donor car in Germany, it likely will require a special order. One of the other guys may know a good place to order from. @Frosty, any thoughts?

Tough question. I am not aware of anyone reproducing the 70s era full-size Catalina and Bonneville door panels.

You may have to buy good used originals and paint/dye them Regatta Blue.

Thank you so far @Frosty and @Ringo64.

I'll try to get used ones, maybe I can find some on eBay or so...

In Germany it's tough to find replacements from original Catalinas because the are relatively rare.

Here are a couple of classic car salvage yards in the USA that might also be able to help you. eBay is a good place to start. Kijiji in Canada is another popular website.

Didn't have time to check, but Summit racing listed the door panels from OER. Check this link.

I didn't see door panels when I checked. I could've missed it but it didn't jump out at me either.
