My first car

Hi.  This is my first post on this forum. I just found old photos of my first car.  I think the photos were taken around 1991. My question is: I always thought my car was a 1976 le mans supersport. Someone told me that anyway. Is that correct, from the photos? Thanks

Sorry - Pontiac didn't make a "Super Sport". However they did make a Lemans Sport Coupe. That is clearly what you have from the fender tag. My first Pontiac was a '73 Lemans Sport Coupe too. The only other option package available to the Lemans in 1976 was the Grand Lemans. The Grand Am was discontinued after 1975, so there was no Grand Am available.

 

It is indeed a 1976 Lemans, the grille gives it away. The 1976 Lemans had the 4-quadrant grille like yours. The 1977 grille had six vertical bars.
