I'm thinking there are a lot watchers but not a lot of "normal" tire kicking buyers out there for this one on eBay at $499,999.00 (not a typo).

http://www.superchevy.com/features/1905-1969-chevelle-marries-classic-looks-with-modern-technology

Simply put, there is no other 1969 Chevelle like this in the world. After two years and 5,000 build hours, this car recently debuted at SEMA 2018. The Chevelle rides on a custom speedtech chassis that allows for 305 wide tires in the front and 345s in the rear. A subtle wide body in the rear was done to accent the rear end of the car with its custom spoiler and bumper. The hood cowls were stretched and paired up with a stretched front bumper and custom front spoiler, complimenting and completing the perfect package. The car is powered by a 700hp LSA and stops courtesy of 15” wilwood brakes. The interior was completed by the world renowned Sid Chavers at a cost of $32,000. Power seats, power windows, heat and A/C.  JL and focal make up the stereo. All other work was performed by the highly award winning Ironworks Speed and Kustom. I could go on and on, I would not know where to begin but so much has been done to this car.  I wanted the build to be something that is timeless, that's what Ironworks does. I have invoices for over $510,000 that detail every single thing done and hundreds of photos from start to finish. Car is appearing in September 2019 Super Chevy. Pro touring, resto mod.  Price is firm, this is a great opportunity if you're interested in this quality of build.  Save yourself a few years and a little bit of money. Feel free to call or text with any questions

How about a Ford F-150 found on Facebook Marketplace?Just  $1000. Expensive terrarium or potted plant holder, if you ask me.

While it's fairly well done, I kinda like it.   It's NOT a Sunbird, it's NOT a 79.  Its an Astra 75 or 76 my guess.

While I would normally not disagree with you JUSTA, and this does look like an Astre to me, the 78-79 Sunbird Safari wagons were pretty much carry over Astres but called Sunbirds.

78 Sunbird.... like mine (80) w/square headlights for coupe N hatchback.  Didn't know you could get a wagon.  I can see the Sunbird logo on the fender of your pic.

77 advertizement

Don't mean to argue, but why would they still be selling a round headlight version in 79??  76 was the last year for round headlights in the Firebird as well.

1976 Pontiac Astra

I can't explain your pic's,  I'm confused.... Google is also showing a square headlight 76 Sunbird....never happened.

My guess is that it was cheaper to carry over the Astre wagon sheet metal than change the dies to make the newer Sunbird notchback and hatchback front clip look seamless on the carry over wagon body.

Remember that the Vega/Astre were classified as the H-body. The Sunbird/Monza/Skyhawk/Firenzas were the H-special. So while the basic unibody structure from the Vega/Astre was kept, all the exterior sheet metal was changed. So changing the wagon's bigger sheet metal was probably consider too costly until much later in the program.

This class is a text book example of someone who is confusing the difference between rare and valuable...and desirable.

Lastly what's a POWER ANTONIA???  One of the Jersey boys? A high colonic? An ocean liner? A locomotive?

Saw the pics and instantly thought the same or that they knew something I didn’t . Glad to know it’s the former

As the owner of a rare Pontiac myself...... I'm a realist and know that rare also means.... Unpopular and/or Undesirable.....Which in the car world means it's not really worth anything except to maybe a very very narrow group of people if at all.....Bottom line is...It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and how bad they want it.....Don't see that car as being anywhere close to being $95000.00 desirable.....

I agree with you Two Lane. Since it's pink from Pontiac I suspect this is a "Mary Kay" car from back in the day and it was special ordered for a woman who sold a significant amount of Mary Kay cosmetic products back then that the Mary Kay company special ordered this car for her. So I understand and appreciate it's rarity. But as you clearly state, that does not mean it is highly desirable and/or valuable. In it's given state its clearly not worth $95000. Restored....well let's just say t will be a lot closer to $95K in value.

Actually I think what makes this more unique to the average GTO collector is that this appears to have the Endura bumper delete / chrome bumper option. Pontiac actually give you a credit if you ordered a chrome bumper (e.g. Lemans bumper) over the Endura bumper on the GTO. So this option on a GTO is also rather rare.

5-lug upgrades were pretty typically of the V8 swaps for the Vegas/H-body cars in those days. The smaller 4-lug roters didn't have the surface area for bringing the car to a stop safely that the bigger rotors did - especially when guys added a 350 V8 or bigger motor. I think they used Corvette (2nd or 3rd-gen) or F-body spindles back in the day.

This is the second time around on eBay for this car. This car was driven past me on I-75 last summer - near JUSTA's place - on Sashabaw Road.

For me, it's a 2010 Camaro (so it's already 10 years old). I don't see it worth what the seller's asking price even though I like the modificaitons. I think it's too high. Back to the rare versus desirable/collectible discussion.

Agreed. Just not worth it for a "concept car" that's been out there for nearly a decade, by a company that went bust. This is the same company that built the Daytona kits for GE's Challenger, HPP. They have gone the way of the dinosaur. Too bad really. I think this kit truly distinguished itself from both Trans Am Depot and ZTA, going for a variation of the '69 Trans Am instead of the '77.
