1966 Catalina needs new rear springs... but none exist?

Recommended Posts

My Catalina's rear is sagging a bit, so I spoke with my mechanic and he stated that I need new springs in back.  I've done a lot of searching online, but I can only find front springs...  Does anyone have an idea of where I can source some springs?

Thanks!

Attached is a link to Detroit Spring, they should have what you need or can make it!

Good luck! There are others, but I've never had any trouble with them!

Kanter Auto is another possible source, We used a lot of there suspension parts on a '63 years ago with no issues.

Both are reputable vendors and will serve you well. I would start with Detroit Spring only to try to cut a middle man or two and perhaps save a buck or two in the process.

so, I have a 66 bonneville, and I'm experiencing the same problem. Wikipedia says the fourth generation B-body is from 65-70. Looking for 67 Bonneville rear springs has turned up more results, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet to be sure they fit. Can anyone give me a reason why they wouldn't fit?? they wouldn't change year to year, within the same "generation", right?? I think everyone out there has bought the same database for their websites... and the engine DID change, as did disc brakes becoming an option. So I think the 65 and 66 just got left out somehow. Thoughts anyone??

Manufacturers made subtle changes over the years of a generational model to help keep them fresh in the public's eye. These changes could be anywhere on the car,  including the suspension for new options or the removal of old ones. Again reaching out to Easton Spring should provide you the springs you need for your car.
