Ticking from the dash

A friend of the wife's has a 03 Grand am. Every now and then there is a ticking in the dash like it is the relay for the hazzards and the turn signals. I am leaning towards the multifunction switch on the column before I start in on the dash board to replace the relay. Just wanted some opinions on whether or not I am on the right track.

My GA's done this. The turn signal switch is actually the hazard button assembly. Crack open the center console piece, discoonect the switch and clean the connections, it'll stop randomly clicking. When they get dirty, they randomly click.

Agreed w. Chaos.

I test drove a GA & this kept happening & thats exactly what they told me to do to it, yet why buy a car that seems to have so many problems like that one.

lolwut. I heard that clicking and spent an hour once hunting in the engine bay for a non-existent ,loud dripping noise. One more project on the list, eh?....(sigh)

i have seen this problem on some cars and sometimes you have to open the turn signal assembly and clean it out. can i ask though? would a lubricant (wp 40) would also help in the clicking noise???

No, WD-40 is NOT an electric parts cleaner. Auto parts stores carry cans of electric parts cleaners, in aerosol cans.
