Always been a Pontiac fan. Can't afford the very rare Pontiac truck so decided to build my own. Being a large individual, I decided to go extended cab, and I just thought making it 4x4 would be different than just throwing the body on a s10 frame, like everybody else. It's very tight. the driver fender has to be notched a bit for the power steering pump and they miss the fan by about 1.5 inches per side.

JUSTA6, Everything is in the same location as the original would have been, as long as I didn't screw up! These were originally a straight 8, so plenty of room. I've been playing around with other stuff as I plan on the doing the hood and sides last. That way I can drive it sooner! Rear fender is just tacked together and bolted on but it really makes it look like a truck and gives me some much needed ambition.

Justa It does run! I got to drive it out of the barn on Monday. I fixed a throttle problem on Tuesday so am golden now. The wiring you see on the floor in the next to last pic is for the heated leather seats. I still have to make the harness nice and clamp it into place.

Been working on it a while but kept putting updates in the introduction section. Here goes: always wanted a truck, Pontiac quit making them in 29 (30 model year) so decided to build my own. It is a 1934 sitting on a stretched 2004 S10 4x4 chassis with a 2004 Z71 5.3/4L60 drive train. Started with a 4 door sedan, ending up with an extended cab.

some progress. last pic is the header after cutting it apart and reshaping it to fit between the driveshaft and torsion bar.

Body is back on, new front driveshaft is in, finally found a set of headers that fit, and engine is wired. Bed and fenders are not mounted but here is the basic idea. it will have the hood, running boards and rear fenders at some point.

And today: it's a truck!

Thanks Frosty! I just cleaned up the heads and lapped the valves. new oil pump and front and back seals/ gaskets. I'm reworking the original harness as the only affordable harnesses don't include some things and none have the transfer case low signal. The finished harness will sneak everything up the back of the engine and fuse block/computer will be inside the cab.

Update: Cab mounts are built and installed. Floor framework is finished along with rear pans. Even got some sandblasting done.

Update! Got tired of working on the body so switched to the chassis. Extended the frame 24" to center the wheels in the fender openings. That required moving the torsion bars and crossmember. Fabricated the core support brackets, motor mounts, torsion arm brackets, transmission mount and 4 of the 6 body mounts. An 04 Z71 sort of fell into my lap, so that drivetrain is now in my 34.

Picked up a couple hood ornaments at a swap meet and found a pair of license plates in the next booth! The 28 is a motometer base.
