  1. Hey guys! This 1966 Pontiac Parisienne is my very first project car, and I picked quite the train wreck haha. It was sitting out in a farmers field since 1982. The farmer said I could have it for free if I could get it out of the field- well, I’m not one to give up! Ive had it for just over a month. Mice had made a cozy home in there for many years so the entire interior was garbage. Ripped it out the first week. Second week was spent continuing cleaning, and ordering parts for engine. Third week, sourced interior seats- first from a 1950s Chevy but sold those and bought blue bench seats from a 1960s Buick. It’s not as nice as the original but will do for now! Last week, we took it down to the cylinders and found out the 283 motor was seized. Just bought and hauled home a 307 so I’ve been getting it ready to install. Still needs LOT more work but definitely making progress. Ive been documenting the whole journey over on Instagram (@thepontiacproject). Would love if you followed along! - Hayley
  2. Thanks so much! I don’t know what the tranny is yet- I just picked up the car a few weeks ago. And yes, you can definitely get more power with a different motor but my 283 is seized and two of the cylinders are pitted. Unfortunately, I can’t afford to have it machined and worked on so I need a quick/cheap fix just to get it running. I’ll only be cruising this summer and can upgrade in the future if necessary! plus the motor I’m buying was only $100 😅 thanks again for your help! Really appreciate the reassurance
  3. Hey guys! I'm really struggling to find an answer so I’m hoping there’s someone here that can help! Ill preface this by saying that I’m brand-new to the classic car resto world and all of this is like speaking another language so please go easy on me haha. This past weekend, we tore down the engine on my 1966 Pontiac Parisienne. I’m 80% sure it has a 283 Small Block Chevy V8 (haven’t been able to confirm yet from the engine numbers) but is pretty badly seized. As a replacement, I’ve found a 307 with the body of a 327, pulled out of a 1972 Chevy Nova. From all the research I’ve done, this should be a compatible swap. I’ll need to replace the water pump but besides that, I’m hoping it will be okay? Someone raises a concern over the bell housing today though and now I’m worried if it will fit. Again I’m having a really hard time finding this info online but did the Parisienne’s originally come with small block Chevy motors or am I way off? If so, is this a suitable replacement? many thanks!! Hayley
  4. OOPS!!! Sorry for the extra photos haha. I must have clicked by accident and now can’t delete them. Oh well 😓
  5. Hey guys! My name is Hayley and I just dragged a 66 Pontiac Parisienne out of a farmers field, where it sat for 32 years! We’re currently parked in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This is my first project car and it seems I’ve taken on quite the challenge haha. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks and it’s come a long way already. Interior has been gutted, new wheels, and all the parts have arrived for the engine. Still have a long, long road ahead but we’ll get there! I started an instagram to share the full story of the car, how I got it, and to show the progress. I’ll leave the link here in case any of you want to follow along :) instagram.com/thepontiacproject so nice to meet all of you!! Hayley first photo is the day I picked her up and second photo is from just a couple days ago
