  2. Very cool 👍 if I had the brains to think Chevy steering wheel , I wouldn’t have spent a week fixing my factory one !!! That impala one looks bloody perfect !
  3. The plate is caged so your safe as Love the Chevy steering wheel too! where did you get it ?
  4. You would certainly do it on a old school bendex starter or any that don’t have a separate control solenoid … mostly fords !!! And tractors ! gotta rember too mate I upgraded my 389 starter to a reduction after market road runner … and to date no complaints at all . I do have their product in 3 cars now caddy with the 429 camaro with its 355 and pretty girls 389 https://www.roadrunner-starters.com/pages/contact-us These boys build them here in nz
  5. Certainly sounds like you should go back to your mate and get him to replace all those studs 👍 Paul I expect you replace the valve springs when u did the cam , but did you check valve spring loading in position ? justA check that they are all in spec . Your machinist can check this for you 👍
  6. I wouldn’t bother for your starter mate it has a bloody great big relay on top of it. The current draw on the trigger wire is nothing compared to head lights and blower motor
  7. stink ! My advise mate, clean up the fire wall plug, do some resistance tests to ensure each circut is sweat as and move on. The wire in your car is old, but , unless you feel by assement that is shot... which i bet it isnt. justA replace what you feel is poor. i have used a rewire kit and they are great! but that was on the mk1 with different engine, daykota dash gear, after market ecu and lots of custom stuff. Your car like mine and wrongways are stock as , i wouldnt be rippin too much out if you dont have to ..... oh oh... kiss !! and with wiring... if it consumes you ..... walk away have beer think about it and hit it another day ... this is our hobby remember !
  8. albert, do you have a factory wiring diagram ? is this plug on the back of you ignition the factory one or is it part of the painless kit ? it looks factory and so do the wires go back to the diagram and justA check that you have it right regardless of colour. what does your diagram show that ign 1 feeds to ? what is ign 2 suposed to feed to ? thats your first clue, and yes like justA said wiring can be a mind f-ck ! but once you get your head around it, pfft easy peasy what i do like about the new wiring kits is that they are labeled the whole lenght of each wire, regardless of colour ... fantastic idea !!
  9. Nope , it’s called a box of beer this side of the Tasman or you can buy a crate of big bottles. we use cartons for eggs
  10. Well my boss lost the keys to her brand new mini … she then lost the spare key that I keep in case of her miss placing the keys !!! … the car has been sitting for 3 months now !!! While she looks for the keys !!!! I refuse to go to bmw and buy new keys when all that has to happen … find 2 sets of keys for it !!😡
  11. Two boxes was dinner !!!!😜 I know you .. you will nut this out one way or another
  12. From what you’re telling . I think you may have a simple dirty contact in your ignition. but !!!!! Sort the out out of your alternator first ! Fark recon 2 boxes of beer some nice steak on the bbg and we could sort this easy peasy
  13. Mate !! evaluate before you go pulling all your factory wiring out !!! matter of fact .. show us what you hate and what you recon is good to use … Nother Words … do nothing untill you can sort out what’s faulty … I can’t remember .. did you replace your ignition switch ?????
  14. Please explains last Indian ? … love a link if there is footage
  15. pfft so this guy calls his boat "wife" ... his mate question why he called it "Wife?" mate, its called wife because its guaranteed to never going down on me !

  19. and back home .... i am working my arse off ....... what is wrongway with this picture ? i justA dont know
  20. Do i need to jump on a plane and come and slap you !! wtf ! have you not learnt with all your years of experance that old cars like humans need constant attention !! Mate , your 65 Pontiac is one of the simplest vehicals on the planet to fix ! i feel you need a petrolhead intevention !!!!! inspriation even ... your car is so cool, you have done a fantastic job of every aspect of your refreash of her !! my god i for one am so proud of you ! and i bet there is at least ten more of us justA on this forum who admire your workmanship ! thats without what your mates think too ! Heres what i do when the shit hits the fan ...... step back . think about it for a while, there is certainly no pressure to do anything ( unless your cash strapped to buy that gto ) please dont go sending your car to some tec to fix a simple electrical issue !! save your money for beers and our trip to woodward !!!! or ... do i jump on a plane and come help you fix it ? i am bloody sure between beers and bbq, we could fix anything !!! scotch fillet please , peppers, onion and a fried egg and salad ...oh sorry thats my dinner tonight !!! the boss is in melborne with the daughter to see some person called taylor swift or something ???
  21. JustA got to love the peace and quiet !!!!!!! the boss is in Melbourne with the daughter to go to a Taylor swift show 🤮
  22. check what the voltage is at the postive terminal on the alternator mate !
  23. See in this picture the star shaped cog . If the exterior door pin is pushing on the clash pad you can see at the top or the push rod from the interior door handle is pulling it opens the gate on that star shaped cog and your gear shaped cog on the out side of that latch won’t lock into the clash plate and lock .. Easy test … press the button on your exterior door .. does there feel to be a little free play before it touches that plate on the latch … I recon it would be about a 1/16. To 1/8 free play !! second is there free play on the interior door handle ? One of them isn’t right it’s not your latch that’s at fault or is it adjustment of the pillar catch This is looking inside the passenger side door skin in my 64 parts shell .. and it’s super easy for you to see this in your girl too one or the other is operating the latch I recon if u take that door handle off and see if the gate closes you have found your answer
