  1. Ron from what I can see they are repairable . Save your money get them straight and box them with a bit of plate steel both my lower trailing arms on my 64 where damaged by a fork lifter I recon .. but I put them in the press and straightened them

It’s beach hop ! and we are off on Thursday afternoon … I was soo looking forward to taking the Camaro .. but the gods are telling me no !!! 4. We are supposed to take the Camaro to beach hop next Friday . Seriously not sure I feel up to it . The brain is telling me don’t drive it … but then I reason .. and go don’t be so bloody stupid , I need to not over think it and moooooove on !
  5. Super kick, in the guts mate ! We were heading as a group to a country pub for dinner and a beer . And never got there ! the tourist was driving a Toyota Yaris .. the thing flew apart ! There was bits all over the road !! The whole inside was justA white ballon air bags ! spent yesterday at home as my blood pressure went through the roof .. but today wayyyy better !
  6. i thought i would share my installtion of a new head linner in my gen 2 , but dont look hard ! its a camaro which have the same set up as firebirds up too 1973 i understand..... first off pull out the old, you will need to remove sun visors, a pillar trim, then door opening trim then c pillar sail panel, and then the c shaped molding front and rear of the header. in my case then the only thing holding the linner in was the contact adhesive. every single clip had crumbled ! the new linner was one i bought from classic industries and it was folded !!!! hence all the creases !!! i got the boss to have a go at ironing them out.... then i had a go...first and last time at ironing !!!! the oem clips next to the old ones At the front and rear are retainers that i unscrewed and buffed to remove all the old adhesive then sand the left and right sides where the adhesive was above the door openings, this all makes it much better for your new adhesive to bound i left the screws in the steel for the interior lamp, and it made it easy to locate once the new linner was up i used my trusty milwaukee to get the centre line and marked the sheet metal so i had each bow dead centred i removed the steel rods from the old linner and buffed all the rust off them and slid them into postion in the new linner and centered them i then slid each row into place centreing the linner on my referance marks starting from the centre and working to the front then to the back adhesive on each surface ... i used ados f2 contact adhesive, and it sticks like shit to the blanket i started by pulling in the centre towards the front and from center outwards to the a pillars, it doesnt need clamps at all, as this adhesive is very strong, i then pulled the back half seen here. once again center first and then work you way out to the pillars , you can also see in this picture the new clips in there slots. once the front and back are pulled nice and tight its time to pull the sides into the adhesive in the door opening,,, i took my time and had a couple of goes at getting it nice and tight. once i was happy i tucked the front and rear linner into the slot of the trim retainers and cut off the excess, then did the same with the door openings . reversal of the trim removal ....... and this is how it came up .... i still have a very faint crease mark showing but i expect this will dissapear in time, i did think about heat gunning it but i will leave it for a little while and see if it doesnt smooth itself out
  7. yeah, and the cops recon he will justA leave the country
  8. Thanks Guys, i woke this morning not feeling flash, blood presures through the roof, so i am going to justA take it easy today. JustA, my mate Lynsey was driving the mustang his door copped the lot of the toyota, and he had a lot of cuts and some skin missing, he will be feeling sore today i bet, i will check on him a little later today... the camaro is going on the hoist as soon as i feel up to it to see whats happened underside the boss has a nice big bruise on her leg where she has hit something in the car, not sure what yet Frosty, your dead right, the paint chips are badges of honor, i may very well leave it alone ! the mustang is a unknown yet mate, i recon its fixable but there is some very odd dents in the oposite side behind the door pillar, where it looks like the diff has moved sideways. or possibly the whole frame! i justA hope its fixable for my mates sake. the tourist... i know he is ok, but last night there was a few of us that wanted to deport him to heaven !!!! cops said he will be charged with dangerous driving and get a fine, thats it !!! ( i have a very strong opoinion on that !!!)

  10. We took the Camaro on a club dinner cruise tonight ….. And we are lucky to be alive !!! we had a club dinner cruise tonight . We met at the club rooms . And headed off , 20 mins out of town a car came around the corner out of control .. I was following my mate in his 69 mustang .. it hit him , then barrel rolled towards us . I had fractions of a second to make the call on which way to go to miss this thing that was upside down in the air flying at us !!! I choose to point the Camaro into the grass , not knowing if it was a big ditch or what ever !!! it missed us … just A … it was a little Toyota … all its front suspension flew off my mates car is stuffed we ended up dodging a bullet I feel When we got home I had a close look at the Camaro .. we lost a whole bunch of paint on the front and passenger side from flying glass !!! we where really close to being taken out like the mustang …
