  1. 3400 in that little ride would go like hell. Good luck with it. Have you checked out j-body performance. They are out of Toronto and have been doing V-6 swaps in Cavalier and Sunfires for a few years. They may help point you in the right direction. http://www.jbodyperformance.com/new/newIndex.php
  2. There have been a lot of reports that Toyota has falsified crash data for their SUV's for the 5 star crash ratings. But this guy from Toyota should be a politician. He tried to side step every question but Matt kept up the heat. I get the impression Matt is probably a Toy driver who is pissed off. On the up side I know of some GM customers that have been sent out with other brand new cars to use until there is a repair that they are confindent in.

  4. My clutch pedal squeaks every couple years so all I do is put some lithium grease on the pivot points of the pedal and the noise will go away after a couple of times of pumping the pedal.
  5. Since all of the parts for the Acadian and the Beaumont were strictly sold in Canada the best place to sell them would be in Canada or the more northern states. For the side plates since ver few are being re-popped then depending on condition $50.00-$80.00
  6. I use: Wash -- Simple Green car wash Clay Kit -- Meguiar's Clay kit Scratch remover -- Meguiar's Scratch X Polish -- Mequiar's Deep Crystal Wax -- Meguiar's Gold Class wax Rims -- Meguiar's Hot Rims Tires -- Murphy's Oil Soap Dash/Plastic -- Meguiars natural shine Seats and Carpet -- Home Depot Carpet Cleaner rental -- Zep carpet cleaner Window -- GM window cleaner Engine -- Simple Green Degreaser but I do want to try to shampoo the engine but I am not sure how to go about it on a fuel injected engine.
  7. Thanks I was not sure and it was a good price -- less than $100.00 and I have a couple buddies looking for them for their V6's and since we are mostly old V8 guys we do are not a comfortable with the higher technology based engines.
  8. I have the opportunity to get a 3800 supercharger off of a 96 Oldsmobile will this fit onto the 3400 series engine.
  9. Hey I love working retail. Today on my way out for lunch some lady takes a cart and fires it across a lane towards the cart coral. This thing takes a bump and hits a brand new Toyota Matrix. Five or six scratches down the passenger door. She freakin laughs and starts to get into her car. So I have had a bad day and yell "hey what the hell are you doing" she just gets into her car and starts to leave. So back into work get a note leave it on the guys car with my number the liscence number I put into my work issued Blackberry. Now I get to wait for the call from the police. These are the cars I typically will not park next to: SUV's Mini Vans 4 Door pickups Anything with a child seat Most of these people do not pay attention to their surroundings and these are the ones that I see doing the most damage.
  10. You have got to watch as RK sport has discontinued producing the Vibe's kits. They are still out there in warehouses but they are becoming few and far between. As for the hoods if I can find a spare hood I will try to copy the one off of the GT-r Vibe
  11. Heard on the radio it was a North American company that supplied the part. It was produced in Canada. Damn Canadians
  12. The roads are nice and twisty in the area but the road we came in on was not the smoothest in the world. I have now been to: Hell Michigan Paradise Michigan Gay Michigan I have friends in: Dildo Newfoundland Lickskillet Alabama
  13. Spoke with my buddy at the dealership here and the way he reads it the Toyota's pedal starts to wear and it will not return. They are coming up with a back yard solution of putting some carb return springs on the pedal to force it to return easily. He said that until Toyota or GM comes up with a solution his boss maybe loaning out some of the used car fleet if it takes to long to come up with a solution and if the customers do not feel safe. The only thing that I am not sure of is that the 05-08 base Vibes use the DBW setup. My question is: What changed?
  14. I was in hell with the wife. It was a nice little town and the couple people I met there said they organize a Hell to Paradise cruise. They invited us to go with them and I am seriously considering it.
  15. Hey your dog does the same as mine does. Goes nuts when myself or the wife show up. Could care less when there is a perfect stranger in the yard or at the front door.
  16. Don't get me wrong I like my car and it has done good by me but this crap with Toyota has me watching the news for recalls. In the end I still bought a Pontiac. I wish the car did have the 2.2 Ecotec from my wife's car just for the low end torque. The little 1.8L does do a decent job and on my last road trip we got 33 mpg. I still plan on driving this car until it falls apart.
  17. If there is a knock in the motor I would plan in rebuilding it. On the other hand I thought I had a knock in the motor of the truck at one point and it turned out the transmission bolts came loose. I would want to see it in person and bringing a stethoscope to see where the knock is coming from maybe useful.
  18. After start up does the knocking go away after a few seconds or does is continue to do so?
  19. I like the Pioneer shallow mount. I could probably build a box that will tuck in near my right rear wheelwell. Another question I had: Is there any benefit to a ported box over a none ported box?
  20. Yours are 12" right? Would there be any benefit to going to a single 10" I was thinking of tucking it into the area on the right side close to where the factory one should be.

  22. I am looking at adding a sub for my car in the summer. I do not want anything huge but just a nice clean sound. Most of the music I listen to is similar to Rob Zombie, Ministry, Kazzer, Metallica or Ozzy. I am looking something that is not going to take up the entire back of the car but just give a nice sound. I may try and build my first sub box this year.
