  1. I took my car in (1999 Pontiac Grand Am, 2.4 L) got a code for the Throttle Position Sensor. Replaced that, same thing happened. It would hesitate when I accelerate and the trac off light would come on. Along with my service engine light. Took it back to have the codes ran and it popped the same code for the throttle position sensor. So again I replaced that and the piece that connects. Spliced the wires. Went back and it still ran the same code. Already replaced the spark plugs, and fuel filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Another thing I noticed is that it idles at 600 RPM, and the throttle body barely opens up when the car is at 2500 RPM.
  2. Okay guys, need some help with this one. I just recently replaced the spark plugs last week, cleaned out throttle body and maf, and idler air control valve. I replaced the fuel filter today. But my car still hesitates upon acceleration. Not as bad as it did before, but still quite noticeable. Now, when it shifts, it kinda shifts hard into second gear, then my traction off light comes on, and stays on until I shut the car off, then turn it back on and it’ll go away. Just recently my service engine light came on, and I already knew I had to add oil, so I did. But it’s still on. Last time the oil was changed was about 5,000 miles ago. Any recommendations on what to do next would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. My car is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. 2.4 Liter.
  3. So I cleaned off the throttle body and attaching parts. I just replaced the spark plugs and it’s still having the same issue. The idle control valve still had some carbon built up on it. The car still feels like it bogs down when I go to accelerate, and the rpms don’t go above 2000 when I do try to accelerate.
  4. Would you recommend a spray or any other alternative to clean it out and flush anything out? There’s also a oil residue left in the throttle body as well. Haven’t been able to pin point where that’s coming from.
  5. I have been having issues with my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am where I go to accelerate, and the car feels like it’s bogging down, the rpms don’t shoot up. It takes a few seconds for it to actually get going. It has been a recurring issue and has started to become more frequent. It even happens when I enter onto the freeway, it’ll seem to bog down a little bit. Shift sensor was changed recently. Don’t have any service lights popping up in the dash. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  6. I’m entering my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am Se for Pontiac of the month. Has original 2.4 L engine with 125K miles. Only mod to that is a K&N cold air intake. Has aftermarket rims and headlights.
