  1. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... maybe GM should at hint and recognize the INTEREST IN PONTIAC IS STILL ALIVE. PEOPLE WILL PAY MONEY FOR THOSE CARS IF THEY COME BACK.

Why can't Pontiac come back like a niche car line- like Scion????

O and his folks snuffed out Pontiac. Hopefully- and God willing- we'll have a new president in 2012. Then, maybe GM will have its act together.

  2. I would like to hope so, but even if GM greenlighted one or two cars to be sold as a Pontiac, or as a tribute to Pontiac, it would still take a minimuim of 2-4 years for it to reach production. That is how long it takes to get a car designed, tested, certified by the government to meet safety and emissions, and into production, even if it based on an existing chassis and drivetrain - this is assuming that you have the design already completed and finalized too.

    Perhaps... perhaps not.

I think a TA could roll into production rather quickly- especially with an aftermarket partner.

    :woot:

  3. Put that thing away before your luck runs out. Just because you've managed to get away without any consequences so far doesn't mean it'll work like that forever.

Studies have shown (I believe it was in the book 'Driving') that once you take your eyes away from the road for 3 seconds or more, your likelihood of an accident rises dramatically. Pressing a radio station button or a window button doesn't require anywhere near 3 seconds of looking, if any at all. Texting on the other hand, that means continually looking back at the phone.

Drive defensively, instead of under the illusion that everything around you is fine and safe.

    Sage advice!!

  4. Well as the title says "Why did you get your Pontiac?" so why did you? :lol2:

I had a new red '94 Formula back in college. It had a 4L60E and a factory 3.42 rear- so I built it up with a custom CAI, full roller 1.6 rockers, free-flow exhaust, a JET stage II chip, and the list goes on. I put nearly 100k miles on it in 3 years- it was a beast of a car back in the days when the LT1 was still new and the aftermarket hadn't caught up yet. I sold it because I needed a 4x4 at the time- but I missed it every day.

Over the years, I've owned several Vettes and even a 4.6 GT Mustang. But I never forgot the Formula.

When we found out we were having our second child- it was a great excuse to sell my resto-mod '80 Vette for another fray into the 4th gens. I missed having an LT1 4th gen Firebird. But this time around, I wanted the MN6 and a Trans Am. I found a one owner '95 and after driving an hour to see it, it was to be mine.

Two years later- I still love my '95 and have NEVER regretted selling my '80 Vette for the '95. My '95 Trans Am is so much more car than my '80 Vette could have ever been.

This article was rather eye opening, although I knew Fox News where a bunch of lying bastards, and this article was the nail in that coffin. This a seriously interestingly good read:

Tell us how you really feel, Chaos! :welcomeFP:

JMHO- I wouldn't consider World Public Opinion.org or Fox unbiased though. They each have a point of view. With that said, anyone can manipulate facts. It does happen and will happen as long as anyone has a significant stake in things. Read. Peel the onion back & make YOUR OWN decisions. If anyone says they have all the answers- be afraid. Ask why at least 5 times deep on everything.

  6. Does anyone here have a good source for finding NOS switch mounting plates for the convertible top and TCS switches? (02 T/A) As with most out there, the tabs on mine are broken.

All local dealers are out, gmpartsdirect.com doesnt have them either.

Ebony or Charcoal doesnt matter to me.

    Thanks in advance!

I'd call Hawk's Third Gen. They actually have a lot of 4th Gen and GTO parts. If you don't mind used- I bet they'd have it for sure.

    Good Luck!

  7. $400- Good grief- I spend that much in groceries in three weeks. :lol2:

    Failomatic, booooooo.

Any sort of motor swap in the future with the Fiero? 60*V6 power FTW!

A swap would be a great start- especially when there is only $400 in the car to begin with.

I was thinking SBC and parts from V8 Archie.

  8. I've looked around the site for a while. Nice place- nice folks.

Anyway, I have a 1-of-1, two-owner '95. I've toyed with the idea of changing some things over the years- but I don't think I ever actually will because original (and still stock) 4th gens are few and far between these days. It's "different"... but not. :D

So, what makes it a 1-of-1 Trans Am is the following combination of RPOs-

    - 48U Dark Green Metallic

    - MN6 6spd

    - 14D gray cloth interior

    - AQ9 luxury seats

    - CC1 roof panels

    - GU6 3.42 rear end

    - QFZ z rated tire option

Specifically, it is the QFZ- the Z rated tire option that gets the 150 speedo- and the gray cloth interior. The first owner ordered it special with every option except for leather (he didn't care for leather). And... it's 100% documented- meaning I actually have every receipt, invoice, or repair bill on file. :)

Great site- glad to be here.
