  1. Thank you! I got another set of spark plug wires, and it is all working out. The set I had had two wires under 22 inches and the shortest distance I had was 25 inches. I thought I was messing it up but it was an impossible situation. Another beginner question. We have a 1972 455 engine. The schematics of the engine says it fires in counter clock wise rotation. All the install videos I watch says clockwise. But they were not on Pontiacs. I am looking for verification which way it will rotate. Cheers~ JA
  2. I managed to get the Distributor dropped in correctly! (At least I am believing that until we turn the key) I found the firing order and know that Pontiac's go counter clock wise. But the spark plug wires I have ordered are not working to go around the headers in the correct order on the distributor cap. Is this a common issue, or am I doing something wrong. This has been a two and a half year project and we are getting close..... Please help.
  3. I have been polishing cleaning working on trying to restore the 64 GTO grills and it seems I am going backwards. Has anyone tried to powder coat them? If you have any hints please let me know. Thank you!
  4. I am working on putting back together a 64 Goat with my dad it has been in pieces for years. We took it down to bare metal. I am not finding replacement molding (?) to put between the quarter panel and the fin? Does anyone have any suggestions? I could very well be using wrong terminology which may be why I am failing in my searches. Thank you
  5. Thank you. Yes we chatted about enlarging the holes but we were a 1/4 inch off and that was too much for an adjustment. Turns out our Valley Pan was getting in the way of the Intake Manifold. So hoping that we can adjust the Valley Pan enough to seat the intake manifold. Fingers crossed. It is a continuous learning process.......... Cheers~ JA
  6. Howdy, I am working on rebuilding a 1972 455 engine to drop into a 1964 frame. We bought an Edelbrock intake manifold and the bolt holes are not lining up. Should we look at making the bolt holes bigger in the intake manifold or would loosening the head bolts give us any additional wiggle room to work with?
  7. Hello, I am working on getting a 64 GTO with a 455 moving, that has been sitting in my parents garage for 25 years. We have taken the main block down to nothing and had it cleaned. New cam, lifters, pistons balanced. But we can’t figure out the year. I think it is between a 71-74 block number 485428. Not sure how to translate B012 8 DN. Any insights would be fantastic. This has definitely been a learning process. Thank you
