My '90 Grand Am was a hand-me-down from my dad when I turned 16 and got my license. Seeing as how I rode in that car my entire life, it was kind of neat having it as my own. I loved it, but after driving it for a while it started to develop problems, rust, turned into an electrical nightmare, ended up spending more than its worth in repairs in a matter of months. So we all kind of agreed I needed a newer more reliable car. That's when the search started. I was looking for something a little faster like a GTP or a Cobalt SS and some other stuff, but there weren't any available at the time at a decent price that weren't beat to hell. Then my dad came across the '05 SC/T on Auto Trader one day and showed it to me, I loved it but it was 5 hours away in CT. So I started looking around for some local Grand Am's, I wanted a GT but almost all of the ones I found were SE's, and the GT's I did find were all overpriced or in shitty condition (usually both), and there were absolutely none to be found within a few hundred miles (except for this one) that had the full SC/T package. So we decided to make the drive up, and while it was a bit expensive, we decided to buy it. I kind of miss having a stick shift, and it's not exactly a rocket, but I'm glad I bought it. The '90 LE was on Auto Trader for months, it was a little pricey, and it was all the way out in Wisconsin. But since these things were so hard to find (let alone in running, and mint condition), we decided to buy it. My grandpa flew out there (for some other reason, don't remember what) and drove it back for us. It's kind of a garage queen but I'm glad we got it. The LeMans I found on Craigslist one day. I had a few thousand saved up for a project car and had the itch to go spend it on something. I wasn't specifically looking for a LeMans, or even a Pontiac, but after looking through a million rust bucket engine-less Camaro's and Mustang's, I came across the LeMans. It needed some work, which was fine, but it ran and was drivable which was a huge plus. We went and looked at it, it was the middle of winter but it still managed to start and I drove it around the lot once or twice, and everyone thought I was crazy but I kind of fell in love with the thing. It didn't have a huge engine, and it was this horrible ugly green color with a green vinyl top. I still liked it though. And the guy said unless they sold it they were gonna tear it apart for parts to restore a GTO. So I decided to save it, paid him for it right there and got it towed back to the house.

My '05 GA GT's best is 15.3, stock. The old '90 SE's best is a 15.7, I'm sure it could do much better but it was my first time racing it so I didn't have a damn clue what I was doing. The LeMans managed a whopping 10.9 1/8th.

For the price, and ease of install compared to most other things, definitely worth it imo.

Well, it wasn't easy. No matter how I adjusted it, I just couldn't seem to get it to fit right. It was like the holes were drilled wrong or something. But after about 30 minutes straight of screwing with it I got it on.

Got the STB's on. Gotta say, made more of a difference than I expected. Doesn't feel like the rear end wants to go flying as much as it used to, and overall is feels more stable in higher-speed corners.

Sweet! It's nice to see an older less popular Pontiac getting cared for.

Washed two of the Grand Am's today (SE isn't here right now) and the LeMans, and just spent the whole day driving (More of that to come, the day isn't over yet!). Felt like a good thing to do on a day like this. As far as I'm concerned, Pontiac isn't dead until they're all off the road and people like us are gone. Still though, RIP Pontiac.

Thanks. Yeah the 2-barrel is out the door as soon as I have the cash. And yep, still the original Pontiac motor. I'll get to it eventually lol. Got no monies 4 mahds. I got myself a JDM K&N filter though, shitz tyte.

Hey. Was browsing earlier and noticed all the GAOC members here do I decided to join up. I've got quite a driveway full of Pontiacs already.. This was my first car, a 1990 Grand Am SE. Quad 4 High Output 5-speed. Fun as hell to drive. Dad bought it new in 1990 and gave it to me when I turned 16. Recently retired it since it's becoming a money pit, but I'd say it did its job quite well for being a daily driver for 20 years. My new daily driver to replace the old GA. 2005 Grand Am SC/T. Drove all the way to CT for it! All stock for now, probably gonna get some bolt-on stuff for it but nothing major until I'm finished with the payments. The ongoing project. 1970 LeMans. 350 2 barrel, turbo 350 trans. And an 8-track player! Mostly stock 'cept for the new quarter panels, and a Edelbrock air cleaner. Have a set of Rallye II's that I'm in the process of cleaning up and painting. I half-own this one (I paid half, dad paid half). 1990 Grand Am LE SPP (Sport Performance Package). Near mind condition. Almost identical to the SE, Interior and option-wise it's a base model LE but they gave it the SE's drivetrain and body panels. I'll post up some more pictures in the car show section later.
