  1. I an rebuilding my 1968 Pontiac 400 Engine. I plan to use a roller bearing pilot bearing. From what I can see there is no dust or oil seal on the pilot bearings that I have seen. I am currently looking at the one from NPD. I also called and confirmed that there is no seal. Is there one out there with a seal or should I not be concerned if the is none?
  2. I have two 1968 Pontiac 400 blocks and was checking the VIN numbers on both. One has a very tiny VIN number ( I measured 1/8" tall with calipers) and the other is about .2" tall. I did not check at what plant the blocks were stamped. Did Pontiac use VIN stamps of different sizes?
