      I am assuming you have a automatic with column shift or with a stick shift there will be another switch on the clutch linkage inside under the dash,the switch is on your column, under the dash,as you move the shifter to park or neutral it make contact and allows the engine to crank ,but it needs to be matched to the steering column shift lever , 2 screws positioning the switch,put it in park and  the switch to the right and check that you have  contact thru the switch, one lead will be purple the other probably pink ,orange or red I'm not near my shop right now, if need be I'll look this afternoon
