  1. I don't think I've ever seen a Grabber Blue Torino before. I realize that it's still a Ford color but I've only seen it on Mustangs.
  2. Thanks guys! Little Jack came into the world on Thursday evening (3-7-2024) via C-section. He weighed nine pounds even (big boy!). He was born with pneumothorax, a collapsed lung. The hospital declared a code blue and 30 people ran into the delivery and labor room, that freaked out my wife and in-laws! They got him stabilized but he was sent to another regional hospital with a top notch neonatal unit. He is breathing comfortably on his own now. As of this morning (Monday), he is doing much better. With any luck, he may be able to come home later today. Fingers crossed.
  3. Thanks for NZ automotive lesson mate! I understand different countries, different cultures, different laws and to some extent values. Common sense can not be taken for granted anywhere in this world.
  4. Just out of sheer ignorance of NZ law I'm going to ask these questions. 1. How old does a car have to get before it becomes subject to the manual? 2. Does the manufacturer or manufacturing originating country/location determine what is or is not applicable to the manual? 3. Why does a new NZ VIN need to be assigned (assuming the car's original VIN is still intact)? Granted that it may not 15-17 characters long as compared to today's modern cars, it probably much shorter in many cases. 4. Why must you put a plan together, get it approved first, and then follow it? Why can't you just build it and have it inspected to meet whatever applicable NZ laws it must pass. It either passes or it doesn't. If you have to assign a new VIN, it doesn't get one until it passes inspection, nor can it be plated. A lot of states will do that for "kit cars". It has to pass the states automotive safety and applicable emissions regulations before it can received a state issued VIN and license plate.
  5. You and I did - yes! I gave you a Woodward sticker for JUSTAG6 at that time. She sent me a thank you already.
  6. Scan the calendar and PM them the pictures. Some printing and assembly required on their end.
  7. Interesting cover of Jerry Reed's classic. The long haired blond guy talking to Jerry Owen is Steve Strope of Pure Vision. He does high end custom cars. He has competed for the Ridler before.
  8. Seems like a lot of "Big Brother" bureaucratic crap to me. Just another way to get into your wallet. Don't get me wrong, the law is the law. I'm not suggesting you violate it. It's JUSTA my opinion.
  9. Good score on the trim. What is the name of the place in Mt. Pleasant TX? Is this a place with a lot of old classics that I should add to my list of classic car wrecking and salvage yards?
  10. Chip has won the Ridler twice that I know of. He won with the "Impostor" Chevy Impala and the "Grand Master" Chevy Deluxe.
  11. If you’re married, your life, as you once knew it, is definitely over!
  12. I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first. "I'll have the rump steak, rare, please." He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?" "Nah, she can order for herself." And that's when the fight started..... I asked my wife, ‘Where do you want to go for our anniversary?’ It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation. ‘Somewhere I haven’t been in a long time!’ she said. So I suggested, ‘How about the kitchen?’ And that’s when the fight started.... When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace expensive. So, I took her to a gas station. And that’s when the fight started..... I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95. I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold cream. And that’s when the fight started.... It was a lovely warm sunny summer Sunday so I decided to drive my family to the seaside. After driving for a while the children started getting restless and asked "Where's the beech daddy?". I replied, "She is right beside me in the passenger seat" And that's when the fight started... My husband and I were lying under the bed covers when he touched my back, I said, "that feels great." He continued to touch my leg, I then said, "wow, you know that feels even better." Then all at once he stopped. I asked him, "why did you stop darling?" He replied, "I found the remote." And that’s when the fight started.... It has been raining cats and dogs all week and my husband is really starting to get frustrated and angry. He just keeps standing by the window, staring at us. If this continues, I am going to have to let him in. And that’s when the fight started! The other day my youngest son asked my husband, "Father I heard at school that in parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her, is this true?" My husband looked him square in the eyes and replied, "Son, that happens in every country." And that's when the fight started....
  13. Sorry, this seems like nit picking at it's finest. It's not like there is a competitive advantage here. So how come all driver's helmets aren't plain black or white, instead of painted to match the car or primary sponsor? It's not as delivered either. This is just silly in my opinion.
  14. In case you didn't hear, here is the winner of this year's Ridler Award. I am sure we will see this on a future episode of Bitchin' Rides.
  15. Wedding cake is definitely known food guaranteed to kill a woman's libido. RIngo is good. He won't need them anymore.
  16. The owner is a frequent visitor to the Friday night cruise in that I volunteer for. I am constantly drooling over it.
  17. Signs Don't tell me that Wylie caught the sumbitch?!?! This items were just a small sample of items that were being auctioned off to the public at the Pinstrippers Jam. This is a charity fund raiser.
  18. More neat stuff When was the last time you saw a Chevy Monza look this good. What's interesting is this car was turned in a drag car shortly have it was purchased. These guys turned it back into a pro touring car. The roll cage is still there but very well hidden, along with the fuel cell. Another H-body - a 73 V8 Vega pro touring car. The Mailman Special. This car appear with the Beach Boys in the background of one ot their appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show. This stepvan is owned by Tom Bailey, owner of Sick Magazine, and multiple time winner of Hot Rod Drag Week. Note the hot dog cooker on the passenger side of the dash! This Pontiac Grand Prix is what I would call an ultimate sleeer. Indymanjoe and I saw this car at Roadkill Nights. At first it seems unremarkable until you notice the exist tubes in front of the front tires and the width of the rear tires. Even the interior is bone stock. It's definitely not stock under the hood! A Jared Goff autographed Detroit Lion helmet This car is a '84 Buick LeSabre. My parents had an '85 LeSabre Limited. Their car was a maroon four-door. '85 was the last year for RWD cars assembled at Flint's Buick City Assembly Plant, it got the plush velvet pillow interior from the Park Avenue. After than Buick City switched over to the FWD Buicks and Bonnevilles. One of Bob Fayz's Sh-Booms - this is a '49 Cadillac Sedanette. It also is a flame thrower! Got intake? I think this is the perfect '57 Chevy. Robin's Egg blue, convertible, SBC. Your basic cruiser!
  19. Neat Stuff Real panther pinked I'd say This car was unveiled at SEMA and was in the Battle of the Builders. A homemade Jaguar called "MyType" Never seen a Typhoon like this before Gotta love a lowered Riveria A Richard Petty Monte Carlo - LS Powered Murray Phaff's one of none Imperial Roadster. A stunning car every time I look at it. Now here is an interesting car. Never mind that James Kystra, co-owner of InLine Tube, ows this gorgeous Olds 442 and it is superbly restored. It what is under the hood that is super special. Truly a piece of unobtainuim. The only known Olds 455 Hemi engine. This was an experimental engine and never went into production.
  20. Pontiacs My favorite Pontiac at the show - a blown BBC Lemans They had a tribute to the GTO - 60 years of the GTO A rare '77 Formula I'm a sucker for a V8 Vega, especially a 71-73. This is actually a 75 with a 73 front and rear clip and sheet metal. This wrecker is still owned by the original owner's family. Signs
  21. I have replaced the interior lights with LEDs for the dash gauges. I have LEDs for the rear tail lights too. Kiwi is correct, you need to get one or two new flasher units that can manage LEDs and incandescent bulbs. They are around $15 US around here. Basically you replace your old flasher unit and emergency flasher unit with the new ones and you are good to go.
  22. Makes you wonder 1. How bad was it? 2. What possessed him to cut it up?
  23. I still got more to post, My knee was screaming at me after 4 continuous hours on my feet. My leg and back ached the rest of the day. It was totally worth it!
  24. I have more photos to post guys, I JUSTA ran out of time this afternoon to upload photos. Stay tuned.
