  1. Me and the 2003 Bonne SE (aka the bottomless money pit). 130,000 miles and needs a part or parts replaced about every other week. My first car though so I have somewhat of an attachment to it.
  2. Ok. Well the check engine light turned off. I had taken the car to AutoZone when the light came on and the gentleman there ran the diagnostic and it came back as the air (smog) pump check valve not functioning. On further investigation I found out that the code could actually be a few different things such as the gas cap not being secured properly. Sure enough I re-tightened the gas cap and shazam, after a couple miles of driving the light switched off.
  3. I didn't see anything resembling it up front. Unfortunately I don't have the wherewithal (or guts) to jack the back end up to start digging around back there.
  4. I'll have a look. I wasn't sure if it was up front on the engine or in back near the tank. I'll let you know. Thanks
  5. I have a 2003 Bonneville SE and I'm looking to replace the Air (Smog) Pump Check Valve but I haven't the slightest idea where it's located. Any help would be appreciated. Here's a pic of what it looks like....
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. I tell ya what, I am so sick of spending money on this car. Lol I guess I'll talk to my mechanic and see what he wants to charge for installing a cv joint. I'm already in line to get my valve cover gaskets replaced. Might as well throw a few hundred dollars more at it to get the cv joint replaced.
  7. Had both my front wheel hub assemblies changed about a month ago along with my outer tie rod ends on my 2003 Pontiac Bonneville. Now when I make a right hand turn my left wheel hub (I'm assuming it's the wheel hub) makes a sound very similar to what a mason jar full of marbles would sound like being swirled around. The harder and sharper the turn, the louder and more pronounced the noise is. Could it be that I got a bad wheel hub assembly and is there any danger in driving this thing around for a couple more months until I can get it replaced? Thanks
  8. Just spent $400 replacing the torque converter clutch solenoid in my 2003 Bonneville SE after the Service Engine Soon warning light came back with a P0742 code (Torque converter clutch solenoid stuck on). It didn't work. The transmission is still trying to go from first to third or fourth gear and won't downshift until you nearly come to a complete stop and shifts really hard when it does decide to switch gears. I'm at a loss as to what to check for next. Any ideas? Thanks.
