  1. Hello all, first time here. Been there done that! I no longer own a Pontiac, but had two. Gold '66 G.T.0., 389 w/four speed, a/c, power steering and posi-traction, of course. I could run through all four gears by fifty, chirping in each one (top end was 115, but in a quarter). In '77 I saw this obscure little comedy with a guy who, like me had a really cute mustache, and drove a neat car, so I got one like it. It was an automatic and black, Y82 package with the 6.6 TA package, even a fancy pin strip kit on it. It also would do all the stuff in the movie, except using the throttle not the brake! I only made one "jump". There is this one curve a coupla mountains over from where I lived and worked in TN, that a girlfriend lived past. This is a sharp curve, oh and on a rise. I could take it at 80, but 85 I flew and set down in the oncoming lane. Luckily I did not make a new friend at that second. Never did 85 there again. Also the speedometer was round, one third was 0-50, one third was 50-100. At four grand the speedometer was pointed to the "M" of m.p.h. Only car I every had that I never topped out! Favorite first date maneuver? Be on a two lane road driving fifty m.p.h., do a 180 without touching the brake, just the throttle (this does involve passing gear!), ending up in the oncoming lane accelerating. Who am I kidding, I did that way too much, way too often (set of tires a year) not even on dates.
