  1. I'm sure the bank confiscated all the bills. Holding onto counterfeits is a federal no no. All you'll get is a receipt for them!!!
  2. Nice job Joe. I'm sure having a lift made it much easier to do then in the driveway on jack stands. I re-did my calipers when I took the winter steelies off in late March. Still had enough paint to put 3 coats on and they look bad ass again.
  3. Clean those calipers real good before painting so they won't chip or peel. A wire brush is a must.
  4. That sucks ass. Counterfeiters sometimes wash the bills, using tea, to make them look circulated. The feel of the cotton paper is unique and the hardest thing for counterfeiters to copy. They sometimes use bills of lower denomination that they erase the printing with bleach (not easy to do) and then re-print higher denominations using the correct paper. I collect paper money (no puns please) and know too much about it. SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. Watch Craigs list for someone selling off parts that might be from your car!!! Might be a way to find that dirtbag.
  5. Funny, even the second time around
  6. LOL.... I knew a car salesman like that. He worked in Freehold, NJ.
  7. Hang in there, you'll get many more. The trophies shown in Coolman's room are from the Vette, not the G6. I have a whole attic filled with them, but then again, I was showing the Vette before most folks on this forum were born, including Coolman I still have the "Best In Show" trophy that I won on the day that Coolman took his first steps I came home and sat on the couch and put the trophy on the floor in front of me and Coolman was on the other side of the living room propped up by the fireplace. When he saw that trophy, he let go and walked across the floor, like Frankenstein, till he got to the trophy and grabbed onto it. The kid got good taste and the rest is history. My first car show was in 1977!!!
  8. There are over 200,000 people without electricity. Many roads closed due to flooding and trees down. Commuter train lines not running due to debris and trees on the tracks. Six people have been killed, mostly by being hit by falling trees. Houses being blown off their foundations and split in half by falling trees. River flooding at higher levels than ever seen before. I'm older than most folks on this site and it's the worst I've ever been through. In NYC there were so many people calling the "911" system that they got a recorded message "Due to call volume, please hold on for the next available operator". Not what you want to hear if someone is breaking into your house. The fire siren in my town was going off all day long. They covered more calls in one day than they usually do in 2 months!!!
  9. It worked to my advantage as I was up bailing water out of the basement all night. I watched the cable box go from 1:59 to 3:00!!! My wife took over at 8 AM, which was actually 7 AM.
  10. He says he's going to build a Camaro that will beat my Vette I hope he does He's got the job at Raceway Park (drag strip), so he will have plenty of free track time for tuning
  11. I was up all night bailing and using the wet vac. I went to bed at 8 AM this morning when the wife took over for me. I was able to open the trap so the water would drain by itself and as I did that, the wall behind the water heater started to flow water!!! Still using the wet vac this evening about every hour or so to dry the water by the wall. We got off easy from what some other folks in this area got hit with. My neighbor got a tree crew by late this afternoon to cut the tree down that was leaning on their roof!!! According to the weather channel, we got almost 6 inches of rain in total with wind gusts to 70 MPH, just like a hurricane!!!
  12. I just noticed , from your signature, that your into heavy metal. Check out my post in the "super touring car" thread, in recent posts with video's of Dan Fastuca.
  13. Now that's some nice Vette's. Check out this video of my buddy, Dan Fastuca. He is the guy with the Mohawk. He has TWO street legal Vette's, one GT-1 and one GT-2. His car is the one on stage in the flames. Dan is a great guy and toured with the ALMS Corvette team last season. He opened a few events ALMS with his version of Jimi Hendricks Star Spangled Banner. You can find it by doing a you tube search on his name. There's also a video that Coolmanvette shot of Dan doing a burnout in my buddy's Z06 for a photo shoot for Vette Magazine. Here is the link for the burnouts: If you watch closely at about 18 seconds in before the burnout you can see me, the tall guy, next to the owner, the short guy. The other guy running around is the editor of Vette Magazine
  14. The rain is starting to let up now but the wind is still blowing pretty good out there. In the past hour there was a gust of 70 MPH in Keansberg, NJ!!! The lights blink on and off every now and then but we have been lucky so far. I'm still getting seepage into the trap in the basement and will probably be bailing all night. I hope that the rain will lighten up enough tomorrow so I can open the trap and let it drain that way. Right now if I open the trap I'll have a geyser with water gushing in from the storm drain.
  15. I had a 1990 GAGT Quad4 HO with Getrig 5 speed. It had factory 16" wheels. It was a rocket and I wish I still had it. In all the time I've been watching, I've only seen about 5 other 1990 GA's with the HO engine. It was a manual transmission only car so that kept a lot of people away. To bad it ate head gaskets THANK YOU...
  16. NJ coastline is the same way...Floods real easy. This is a once every 10 year event. The only way we would get 6 inches of rain in a day or two is with a summer time hurricane and we're overdue for one of those!! Actually its just about the same as a hurricane as the wind gusts have hit 68 MPH tonight!!!
  17. It's a car show only car and if the show isn't real local, it's a fill up each way of SUNOCO 93 ULTRA $$$$ That's why I have the G6 GXP and the Monte Carlo, for DD's, one for me and one for the wife
  18. A DD??? As long as you can tow a gas tanker behind it. It gets about 6 MPG and has a 13 gallon tank
