  1. Thankz for the share. Did ya notice the HURST Olds?
  2. My wife got her 1st shot last week. Next week us 18-64 division can get in line.
  3. Glad you at least had fun bidding. Yes you can get a Holley carb style injection set up for $1000.00. Add bungs for air sensor in the exhaust, bolt the carb style injection on and wire it in to your programmer. Need high output fuel pump. Trend seems to be installing in your gas tank N fire it up. Sorry bout your headers, we all know the waiting game. You made your daughter happy...priceless. A LIL here a LIL there, you'll get er done!!!
  4. Do you know what this is? Tobacco Smoke Enema Kit (1750s – 1810s). The tobacco enema was used to infuse tobacco smoke into a patient’s rectum for various medical purposes, but primarily the resuscitation of drowning victims. A rectal tube inserted into the anus was connected to a fumigator and bellows that forced the smoke into the rectum. The warmth of the smoke was thought to promote respiration. doubts about the credibility of tobacco enemas led to the popular phrase “blowing smoke up your ass.” As you are most likely aware, this odd tool is still heavily used by governments today.
  5. Yea, but they had the cool/distinctive back window. There was a black N gray 2 tone package on the early 80's Prix that was heart melting. Paid cash for the Sunbird or almost went into a loan for the Prix. There are sooo many ads in that mess, you think your clicking on the next page and your off in left field somewhere. But dang you must have been writing as you were reading to keep track.
  6. Tails never fails..... LOL's Like how ya got your reflection in the vid Ringo....your a rock star!
  7. I had a 74 Ventura fastback. Loved that car. Traded it in for the Sunbird. I don't agree with the 80's Gran Prix making the shouldn't list. Always liked the styling better than the Monte Carlo or the Gran National.
  8. I hate these click on ads, but checked this out and Pontiac was well represented in both cat's. Whatcha think? https://yeahmotor.com/cars/muscle-cars-to-bring-back/?version=X2&utm_source=taboola&utm_campaign=ym_tb_tbym0_dsk_all_0210_wb_sb_bringbackd2&utm_content=2970449523&utm_medium=onlyinyourstate &utm_term=ym tb tbym0 dsk all 0210 wb sb bringbackd2
  9. Kiwi.....this one's 4 you!
  10. Think we all take off on a rant or trying to explain things that take over threads. Actually it's really cool we have a place like this for friends to discuss what's on your mind. As long as we don't get to deep into off thread topic's.😎
  11. Last year I switched up to the Pertronix thinkin it was in the distributor. NOPE. It's drivin me crazy for years. Rebuilt the carbs when I first fired the motor in the car. It was fine. Rebuilt a second time when my middle carb was leakin badly on the HOT motor and installed new bushings on the throttle plate shafts. It was fine. Dropped it off to have the custom exhaust built. They claimed it wouldn't start (BS) and readjusted so they could start it and move it. I WAS PISSED!! Only took it to this Hotrod shop because I knew the exhaust guy. Best their is, hands down. Got in a huge fight with the owner over a bill he tried to hand me for screwin with MY car. 3 days before the Dream Cruise. Was leaving the shop and jumped on it pulling into traffic and it bogged and completely died in traffic. Lucky it started and I pulled right back into the shop. WTF?? Back to gonna charge me to look at it. FU. Had to drive it home with 1/4 throttle 25mph tops mainly on the side of the road. It starts fine....but after that.... Pulled the cap and the points are adjusted way to far apart. Fires right up....won't rev. WTF??? Plug wires wrong. Instead of Pontiac counter clockwise, he had Chevy clockwise firing order. IDIOT. Fires, runs, slight bog has been there ever since. But getting worse. At 1st thought it was too much gas. Worked with that THEORY for quite awhile. Tried every adjustment, kickin in to early, kickin in waay late nothing seems to help. Then thinking it's a lean problem with too much air entering intake through 3 carb openings. Hard to get my head over the outside carbs to watch at full throttle to see gas going in. The car starts N runs fine, cruises great esp now with the 200R4 overdrive, if I feather it through the bog its fine. Stomp it an it bogs, then hold on to your ass N protect your face from the damn air freshener.
  12. His N Hers is a Hurst automatic shifter with all the normal positions in a straight line. P R N D 1 2 Now at neutral you push the shifter out to the outside slot, pull all the way down to 1st. Picture this... light changes you take off in 1st, bump 2nd bump 3rd. By this time your air freshener is standing straight out from the rear view mirror smacking both him N her upside the head. Got it?
  13. Still need to hook up your throttle cable, but you could use the one off your intake. Appears to be factory air cleaners. These are very expensive. I have cheap ones that came with my motor. I would check these out further. Looks like you have a good setup there to bid on buddy!
  14. This is NOT rocket science and should NOT be intimidating. It's 3 Rochester 2 barrels. As basic as it gets. The entire system runs off the middle carb. This has the normal adjusting screws. Be it right or wrong, I was always taught working with my Dad N Grandpa the best way to tune a carb is to hook up a vacume gauge and adjust the carb to the highest vacume you can make. Start with the left side adjusting screw. All the way in. Back it out 1 1/2 turns. Now go out until the engine revs higher and vac raises. Might have to go in to raise RPMs N vacume. Now follow same instructions on the right adjusting screw. Finish with idle RPM screw to usually 800 RPM. Some adjust idle with an automatic trans in gear. I always adjust in park/neutral. When in gear RPM will then drop to 6-700RPM at idle. Your now adjusted to run the car on the middle 2 barrel from idle to full throttle. Now, wanna give er a kick? Let add 2 more carbs. These are non adjustable. They don't have adjustment screws. I'm sure you could re-jet, but why? Bigger cam, higher compression might be the only reason. It's set up to run like a 4 bbl, past 1/2 throttle they kick in depending on where adjusted. Just like changing the spring rate in a 4bbl. Look at the pic's from the setup your lookin to buy Kiwi. Throttle linkage for outside carbs is on the choke side with a solid connecting rod. You open the butterflies wide open and bend the rod up or down til both carbs open exactly the same. Never need to mess with this again. Now open full throttle and make sure your getting gas from both outside carbs as you would with a normal 4 bbl. They both have normal floats, experience normal carb probs with floats sticking open or closed. If your smoking out the exhaust, check to see if one or both outside carbs are leaking/dumping gas before they are suppose to kick in. The tri power set up is top of the line cool and you paid extra for it back in the day. Alot of flash and intimidation for those that are unfamiliar with multiple carbs. There is no constant adjusting to keep them in sinc like alot of multiple carb setups. At what RPM do you want them to kick in is the biggest decision you have to make. EYE CANDY like the rest of hard to find option makes your car that much cooler. Up to you. I added the console and HIS/HERS shifter to my 66 because I've always thought it was sooo damn cool. It didn't come out in the GTO til 67 for the purest. These are the same people that can read your Vin plate and know what everything means. They walk away shakin their heads that the car didn't come with Tri Power. Much respect to these guys, but Cmon. Now....Why can't I figure out the bog in my own damn car?
  15. OMG.. This is great. Check out what he is using for the throttle cable bracket. A plug wire loom. That fuel line plumbing is NOT factory and completely F'd up. Good way to burn down your pride N joy. The themostate housing appears wrong as well, facing the wrong direction. Most Pontiac have upper hose to the right side of the radiator. RUN, don't walk away from this one esp at that price.
  16. We need to figure out who's got their hand up Bidens A... N workin his mouth. THE PINEHURST PRESS NEWS & VIEWS Interesting Take on Electric Cars As an engineer I love the electric vehicle technology. However, I have been troubled for a longtime by the fact that the electrical energy to keep the batteries charged has to come from the grid and that means more power generation and a huge increase in the distribution infrastructure. Whether generated from coal, gas, oil, wind or sun, installed generation capacity is limited. A friend sent me the following that says it very well. You should all take a look at this short article. IF ELECTRIC CARS DO NOT USE GASOLINE, THEY WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN PAYING A GASOLINE TAX ON EVERY GALLON THAT IS SOLD FOR AUTOMOBILES, WHICH WAS ENACTED SOME YEARS AGO TO HELP TO MAINTAIN OUR ROADS AND BRIDGES. THEY WILL USE THE ROADS, BUT WILL NOT PAY FOR THEIR MAINTENANCE! Now where will money come from for roads if not the gas tax? In case you were thinking of buying hybrid or an electric car: Ever since the advent of electric cars, the REAL cost per mile of those things has never been discussed. All you ever heard was the mpg in terms of gasoline, with nary a mention of the cost of electricity to run it. This is the first article I've ever seen and tells the story pretty much as I expected it to. Electricity has to be one of the least efficient ways to power things yet they're being shoved down our throats. Glad somebody finally put engineering and math to paper. At a neighborhood BBQ I was talking to a neighbor, a BC Hydro Executive. I asked him how that renewable thing was doing. He laughed, then got serious. If you really intend to adopt electric vehicles, he pointed out, you had to face certain realities. For example, a home charging system for a Tesla requires 75 amp service. The average house is equipped with 100 amp service. On our small street (approximately 25 homes), the electrical infrastructure would be unable to carry more than three houses with a single Tesla, each. For even half the homes to have electric vehicles, the system would be wildly over-loaded. This is the elephant in the room with electric vehicles. Our residential infrastructure cannot bear the load. So as our genius elected officials promote this nonsense, not only are we being urged to buy these things and replace our reliable, cheap generating systems with expensive, new windmills and solar cells, but we will also have to renovate our entire delivery system! This latter "investment" will not be revealed until we're so far down this dead end road that it will be presented with an 'OOPS…!' and a shrug. If you want to argue with a green person over cars that are eco-friendly, just read the following. Note: If you ARE a green person, read it anyway. It's enlightening. Eric test drove the Chevy Volt at the invitation of General Motors and he writes, "For four days in a row, the fully charged battery lasted only 25 miles before the Volt switched to the reserve gasoline engine." Eric calculated the car got 30 mpg including the 25 miles it ran on the battery. So, the range including the 9-gallon gas tank and the 16 kwh battery is approximately 270 miles. It will take you 4.5 hours to drive 270 miles at 60 mph. Then add 10 hours to charge the battery and you have a total trip time of 14.5 hours. In a typical road trip your average speed (including charging time) would be 20 mph. According to General Motors, the Volt battery holds 16 kwh of electricity. It takes a full 10 hours to charge a drained battery. The cost for the electricity to charge the Volt is never mentioned, so I looked up what I pay for electricity. I pay approximately (it varies with amount used and the seasons) $1.16 per kwh. 16 kwh x $1.16 per kwh = $18.56 to charge the battery. $18.56 per charge divided by 25 miles = $0.74 per mile to operate the Volt using the battery. Compare this to a similar size car with a gasoline engine that gets only 32 mpg. $3.19 per gallon divided by 32 Mpg = $0.10 per mile. The gasoline powered car costs about $25,000 while the Volt costs $46,000 plus. So the Canadian Government wants loyal Canadians not to do the math, but simply pay twice as much for a car, that costs more than seven times as much to run, and takes three times longer to drive across the country. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!

  18. Yep. All there. Vac lines for brake booster on linkage side. PCV and distributor vac lines, and the choke tubes look ok on the other side. Fuel lines are all intact too. Whats missing is the trans bracket that allows you to hook up the trans kick down and throttle linkage. I had a very hard time finding one. Ended up using a throttle bracket and welding up what I needed for the trans. Frosty is right, that set up would be around the $2000 mark here. But as always, it's only worth what someone's willing to pay for it. Looks like only 1 bidder so the price war has not begun. I would watch it and maybe bid at the end. All that said....Been driving the GTO for may years and still can't work out the BOG when the outside carbs kick in. Have tried everything. I can feather it past the bog, but can't JUSTA stomp it to the floor.
  19. Say's the page can't be found both times I tried to look at it.
  20. Tough one for me. 60's 70's are my fav, but 70's and up I was working for Pontiac. Very proud to have been a part of that and as Last Indian say's...a time that will only exist in dreams! GM or I mean gm, is already noticeably heading downhill. I agree with Last Indian, I take one bit of solace in the fact that Pontiac was closed by GM! It actually went out on top! With great regret by most nearly everyone! Still had a great presence and still HAS a loyal allegiance!
  21. I voted for all....... Need the rest included as there is no bad Pontiac. Justa owners that take better care than others.
  22. Add a couple turns and M1 is added also. Justa add streetlights N ya got Woodward too. Don't forget hangin with your buds @ a couple shows!
