Newbie………53 Pontiac Chieftain 8 cylinder & 3 on the tree
JUSTA6 replied to Alweeja's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome AL. We do like pic's around here, inside and outside of your car. Pic's of whatever you might be working on (engine, drivetrain parts ect.) I wouldn't try to fire the car again without some steps in place 1st. Entire fuel system, tank needs to be drained/cleaned. Fuel hardlines can be cleaned and reused. ANYTHING rubber, (needs to be replaced with modern hoses that will withstand todays corrosive fuels/fluids ect) from top to bottom of the entire car. All needs to be replaced. New rubber fuel lines and carb cleaning. Rubber lines for brakes, tires, vacume lines, coolant hoses and make sure radiator isn't plugged. Clean replace fluid. Change the oil and make sure there is no water mixed in. A LIL prevention is worth a ton of $$$, time and headache's. Take your time, it's waited this long to get back on the road. Good Luck. will be waiting for update pic's on your project and we are here to help if you get stuck on something! -

I HATE wiring, but if it works after the jumper is installed. My next move would be to check if the orange and pink wires are in the wrong place. Justa guess.....

Mine let go at the Autometer OIL pressure gauge in the pod and got the outside of the windshield. Replumbed the gas pressure gauge to copper and then repaired the oil pressure gauge. Good advise Wrongway or should I say Rightway?? -

OHHHH the tent city and noplace to park. Would have liked to buy some merchandise, but too much walkin for this Ol Fart. That's less than 10 min from my house. Used to work at the Beechcraft FBO. In fact, that's where I pulled over to get my speeding ticket, AM of the Dream Cruise.

Plug N play off the lighter socket. 1st tape?? BOB SEGER and the Silver bullet band LIVE!!!! Was 36 rows from the stage at the concert. Dang it seems like yesterday. Naw yesterday was when my kids were small. -

That's a safety issue, I swapped out my front drums for Disk. You can change your master to a front/rear setup as well. Knowing you would still have some brakes in case of a blown line. But going that far. Make it safe and buy a kit for the whole thing including power brake booster. -

Thankz for the pic's. We LOVE pic's round here. Look forward to watching your progress on the build. Keep the pic's coming! You wouldn't ruffle any feathers round here. Very few can say they are 100% original. We focus on gettin em back on the road and having fun with them. Keepin the dream and Pontiac legend alive. No matter the roadblocks that always pop up. If it was easy and inexpensive, everyone would do it! (even Fitzy) We have all been to the edge and ready to quit, but when it's right and runnin well. There is no bigger ego boost then a carshow award or the many thumbs up and smiles received during a cruise, Justa out enjoyin your beast! You at least have help and support here in the FP family. Chat it up in the forum with us and add your knowledge to the pool when ever you can. -
