Went to my first event today. Local forum a guy was offering up co-driving his car to get more people interested so I jumped at the opportunity. I ended up taking first in the novice class with 30 entries into it! My times were under 2 seconds slower then his! I think I may have just found my new addiction.

My sweet trophy!

I have autocrossed a couple times. I really like it and it can be fairly inexpensive.

Just picture a bunch of Hondas and Mazdas racing around a parking lot. Then me in my lumbering old pickup truck.

Nope, before the mullet mobile's time. Was in my bro-in-law's MR2. Project car doing college we built. Actually on the way home from that event he found out that T-tops are not like sunroofs

Balls tons of frs's and brz's now and plenty of 3 series around here too.

Haha I've been caught in a sprinkle with T- tops before. You should get back into autocross with the maro!

 I wish it was that. He's driving in front of me and we're on I-75 in Florida in the summer and stuck in some traffic and the MR2 doesn't have A/C so he's getting a little toasty. Traffic starts to pick up and next thing I know there is a piece of glass flying at me. He thought the t-top was like a sunroof and unlatched it, trying to open it then grab it while moving. It luckily bounced once and I was able to swerve out the way, we started slowing down because believe it or not the glass didn't shatter on the first bounce, second bounce it landed in the emergency lane and did break  so we high tailed it out of there.

Definitely been thinking about doing it with the Camaro. Thing actually handles really well. Just haven't had any time :(

Yup. AutoX is pretty fun. I got a lot of looks every time I did it with the GTO. I've also taken my previous DD - 2000 GP GTP/GTX and my present DD - 2009 G8 GXP. I wasn't all that good, but I did improve every run and had fun doing it.
